Has anyone driven a DB9 manual transmission and a DB9 manual transmission w/ Sport Pack option? I'm curious as to whether the difference between the two is noticeable...

    Regards,

My dad ordered his 2008 db9 automatic coupe (silver/red coming in december) with the sport pack. all it is is stiffer suspension and bigger brakes with bigger wheels, no engine difference. He test drove both the regular and sport (auto-gearbox) with me and I just noticed its more tigher on the corners and had a stiffer suspension. We opted for it because of the visual enhancements.

Eh, it has already happened, so might as well have a field day with it.

Vic, you are a liar. Turn off your computer, and get a glass of milk, and read Hop on Pop.

There is no proof showing that I am a liar about my father being ordering one, its coming in december with the sport package with red calipers, 900 watt linn sound system, and bright finished grille colors are tungston silver on chanclor red with falcon great upper dash and mahogany wood and on the doors to. Would you stop saying I'm a liar and move on with whatever you do in life.

Funny aside, I was at the Aston dealer tonight showing one of my law partners the cars who had an interest but didn't know anything about AMs. The salesman even took him for a blast in an AMV8, his first time even riding in an exotic car.

We were standing around and another salesman said, "that engine sound is great, isn't it?" I replied that yes, I was "surprised how deep and loud it is, it's more like American muscle than, say, a high-pitched Italian V8."

He turns and says correctively, "Well, Aston Martin isn't Italian. It's British." and he walked off. All I could sputter out was, "uh, yeah, I know that."

I thought we made it clear to you that we didn't want to hear about your father's (or now your mother's) cars anymore.

Why can't the kid just lurk anonymously like the rest of us non-exotic owners?

You know what though, you don't have to be anonymous at all. You can be a great contributor without owning a Ferrari. You can be young. None of your family needs to be wealthy or have a Ferrari. You can even been in an early stage of school or work and be far, far off from ever buying a Ferrari and people will still treat you nicely...

    IF

you aren't obnoxious, bratty, jerky, pesky, brash or bothersome.

And you're in a pretty good place yourself, as med student is in the "only a matter of time" category of non-owner. :D

I've always been a fan of F-chat due to the member's decorum, acceptance, and kindness, regardless of age. Out of all of the car forums that I have visited or posted on, this has always been, by far, my favorite. I agree that you do not need to be wealthy or own an exotic car to post on here, but in terms of vehicle/driving impressions, I think that the original poster would have liked to have received a genuine response, not from someone with limited to no experience when it comes to the respective car.

Funny. When I drove the AMV8 convertible, my salesperson said Aston replaced the 900W Linn with Alpine in '07 cars............for some reason, unlike the 1300W Linn in the Vanq, the 900W Linn was fraught with problems from day one. The 1300W Linn in the Vanq was replaced with Alpine in '06- a mistake IMHO. The Alpine may be user friendlier, but the sound quality not as good as the 1300W Linn.

And NO I didn't get rid of my Vanq, just had the spoiler lip replaced and my salesperson let me drive the AMV8 convertible. Fun little car.......

Do all Linn systems use Alpine head units?
