    Hi, As any of you 430 owners have heard whiseling noise from your engine on cold starts. The whiseling noise goes away after several minutes, and I never hear it again until the next day when I fire up the engine. I might add that when I do start the car after a nice enjoyable run, it does not whisel. Thanks for your comments.....

    You are most likely hearing the secondary air injection pump. the noise should not be to loud, and if it is getting worse you should have it checked out. It is the same pump, as used on most Mercedes since 1998, and they have a habit of going loud and then stopping altogether.
