Florida doesn't have a front license plate, do states allow you to mount foreign plates on the front of your car?

What does a front license bracket look like and is it secure and not damage the front of the car, or am I better off leaving the plate mounted on the garage wall

I vote garage wall. These cars (virtually any car) looks much better with no front plate at all, IMHO.

Put it on the garage wall next to the Studebaker and Shelby plates DC. The p/n for the bracket is 20108205, it is secure after you drill through the thick black rubber of the bumper and hit steel. Besides a USA plate won't block tooooo much airflow from the radiator right?

I've come up with a better solution than my prior attempt - and it's so good, it's practically OEM :)

    1. you need a license bracket from a Mazda Miata.
    2. drill out a couple of holes near the end of the bracket
    3. remove your front grill from the car
    4. gently pry apart the reinforced bracket ends
    5. go to Home Depot and get the biggest shrink tubing you can find - fit this over the ends of the brackets (to protect the vanes on the grill)
    6. fit the vane of the grill in between the two "arms" of the bracket - secure with small nut/bolt and some loctite
    7. make sure to use the SECOND vane... NOT the top one! (the picture here was using the top vane,... and the license plate wouldn't fit... had to move it down)
    8. reassemble and enjoy!

I thought they mounted under the grill, attached to the valance. I got a factory bracket that mounts there.

Always happy to help! If folks want a bracket, but don't have the mechanical aptitude - I may be swayed to produce a few of these for a fee...

Ehhhhh.......skuuuze me for saying, but, gotta agree with the other guys. The 308 looks better without the front plate, if not req'd.

I couldn't agree more... unfortunately, it's required (and a hefty fine) here in NH... and they aren't very understanding about it either..

In Canada it is law and a requirement to have a front license plate mounted on all cars. Of course I refuse to do this and as a result regularly get fined. So far, two one hundred dollar fines this year but worth it.

Front plate required here in Wisconsin too. Never put a plate on the Ferrari and have never been stopped in 6 years. Am not running a plate on my '05 Pontiac GTO either with the same results. Told the dealer not to mount the plate bracket to the front bumper as they had to drill holes. Most newer cars are not typically set up for front plates so there are lots of cars running around this part of the state without front plates.

me neither, the cop next store to my house told me any cop who gives you a ticket is a a**,and in most case you could win in court for some classic's never came with a front plate, two years now no ticket and I'm not going to knock on wood, they have to catch me first:)

I have never had a front plate and never gotten a ticket for it. Every cop Iv'e talked to says on a car like a Ferrari if you get a ticket for that means it was an attitude adjustment ticket. After this many years driving Ferraris I have to believe him.

I will not put a front plate on my 308 and would prefer the ticket to messing up my classic. I believe in MN, if you have collector car plates, then the front plate isn't required. (Not 100% sure if that is correct though!)

I got a ticket for a misisng front plate on my 2005 BMW 330i last summer when it wsa parked on the street in a neighborhood close to our state fair. Cops were clearly cruising around looking to ticket parking violators for revenue and thus I became a victim. I decided to put the front plate on the BMW in order to make that ticket go away since I'm not as protective of that car.
