Why can't I bring an F50 into Canada? How many Enzo's are in Ontario? Can I import a U.S. F40? Is a vette Z06 better than a 360? Should I buy a 1992 348 for $39,000 ? Does Vasco really have a job? And has he ever shown up at any F chat events? baaahahahahhahaaaa.....has anyone heard those questions asked before?
Word had it that 7 Enzos passed through FoO...i would assume that a max of 15 cars made it here in our great country !
You are one of the few people who recognized my avatar! I don't know why he still wears the Parmalat hat....they're bankrupt!!
I think because its red. Funny Story about Nikki : Back in 2004 i was in Montreal for F1, sat night about 11pm. We were (friends) walking aorund in old Montreal...cant recall where or what it was called, but it was where all the gobble stone tiny streets are lcoated. We passed an open Montreal window resturant, and there he was.....essentially my hero idol....Nikki eating no less than 20 feet from me. I walked away and then it registred in my brain who it was...stupid me...in front of a few hundred people on a packed side street...i point and start right at him and yell "very loud......."THATS NIKKI LAUDAU" of course complete silence happens both on the street and in the resturant. He gets up, puts on his jacket and runs to the back....to never be seen again. The 5 guys at his table confirmed it was him. I told them to apologize to him from me and left.....only 2 windows later to run into Pablo Montoya and seeing a crowd to yell and snicker at him....to only turn a corner a see Shumi drive by in a quatroporte Maser with light tinted windows. All in a matter of 10 minutes, and no pics or autographs....but the highlight was to to see N.L up close...let me tell you, he looks messed up in real life up close...the tv shots are 50% better than what you really see....trust me.
I don't plan on converting it to a road car. This is for the track only. The availability of a challenge car in the US is better, so I am curious to see how much of a hassle it would be to bring one in if I were to locate one. Trailering a car from Canada to the US and then back to Canada wouldn't present any importation issues because they know that you went across the border with the car and you reported your intention to bring it back to Canada (which they check). However, I am wondering if they will allow a Challenge car of US origin to be imported into Canada. Has anyone done this?
Good story! Unfortunately, the dozen times I've been to Montreal to watch F1, I've never seen any driver/celebrity. Like I've said in many previous posts, I'm done with Montreal F1 for now...enough is enough. I'll only go back if they have an FXX trial there, or something else of importance to make it worth my time and $$$. Recently its been all the same crap. I love Montreal city, when its NOT the F1 weekend. Niki is on my list of top 5 favourite drivers ever. I've even read his book!
makes me happy to know that these are all admissible. 2000 TO 2007 360 MODENA ALSO KNOWN AS 360 COUPE 360 MODENA F1 ALSO KNOWN AS 360 COUPE F1 360 SPIDER 360 SPIDER F1 360 CHALLENGE STRADALE ALSO KNOWN AS CHALLENGE STRADALE 575 M MARANELLO ALSO KNOWN AS THE 550 EVOLUTION 575 M MARANELLO F1 ALSO KNOWN AS THE 550 EVOLUTION F1 SUPERAMERICA LIMITED PRODUCTION ALSO KNOWN AS THE 575 M MARANELLO SPIDER ENZO LIMITED PRODUCTION 612 SCAGLIETTI 612 SCAGLIETTI F1 599 GTB 599 GTB F1 F430 COUPE F430 COUPE F1 F430 SPIDER F430 SPIDER F1 2008 F430 COUPE F430 COUPE F1 F430 SPIDER F430 SPIDER F1 F430 SCUDERIA 612 SCAGLIETTI 612 SCAGLIETTI F1 612 SCAGLIETTI (SESSANTA) 60TH anniversary 599 GTB FIORANO 599 GTB FIORANO F1
Hello, I've just starting researching the procedure(s) to import a Ferrari F355 from the US to Canada - only to learn about the Registry that lists cars for Importation into Canada: http://www.riv.ca/ Maybe I'm reading this document incorrectly, but to my shock all 355's are Inadmissible!?! I have yet to phone RIV to confirm or spoken to my local Ferrari dealership (Vancouver - www.ferrarimaseratiofvancouver.com) to see if this was true? Any help would from the chat rooms would be much appreciated... Regards, Vancity F355
I have not been on the board in a while, but for car related advice, no matter the marque, this always seems to be the most knowledgeable(?) source! I'm pretty sure i goofed big time here. Any advice on the best way to proceed would be extremely helpful. I was in Arizona this summer. There i "bought" a 2004 Honda Accord EX off my boss. Never got around to the paperwork. So essentially right now he has the money and i have driven the car here to Montreal. Turns out that he bought the car off a friend, but never changed the title over. So he wants to switch the title to my name from his friend (which his frind has no problem with) and thinks that everything will be fine. The car is already here, but obviously not legally imported. I suppose i entered Canada as a visitor. Customs agent knew I was a Canadian driving an US plated car but let me pass no problem. The issue is not that i'm worried about not hearing from my boss. I trust him. this is simply a matter of what i need to do to get this car in my name. I would like to know if there is a way to have the registration put into my name even though neither the car nor i remain in Arizona. Or am I screwed...? :S Help!, Chris
You are screwed as far as Canada is concerned. The customs agent made a mistake. If I were you I would do nothing until you get the title then I would cross the border again with the car and do it right. You cannot get it plated any other way. www.riv.ca
I will of course be heading back to the border to have the car imported when i have the title. It will be shipped to me, and will be in my name. However the registration is not in my name. Do I need to go back to Arizona? or can it be taken care of at the border if I have the title, and other documents listed by the RIV?
so importing an 03 modena is not allowed into canada? kinda wanna take advantage of this 1=1 currency and do some car shopping.
What's your budget? Importing Testas and 512TRs are a steal with the dollar at parity, and since they are 15 years old or older, completely admissible with no mods. I also see an 84 BBi in the FerrariAds section.
If I didn't have my Testa already, I'd be buying this: http://www.ferraris-online.com/pages/carintro.php?reqcardir=FE-512TR-92163 Wow!

Crikey! I must admit, I've always thought it would be cool to have an XJ220 in a collection. That thing is ballistic, though. No idea who would service it, especially in Canada.
