Just a little arrogant?

He's more than "just a rookie". As someone else has said, in his first year in F1 he's still ahead of the current world champion in the same car, which suggests he's very far from being an ordinary driver. He was also extremely quick in all other forms of racing that he's been in and had the beating of Kubica, another very good driver

 

Regardless of how Lewis would perform in a Spyker,Super Aguri etc...this guy is leading the WORLD championship from the most highly rated driver in F1...(now that Michael is a spectator).....and also remember all the mistakes Alonso made at the beginning of the season when the rookie blew him into the weeds....finally Lewis comes from a working class background...talent alone gave him the break with Mclaren lest we forget....

Mclaren have been breast feeding Lewis Hamilton since day one (HE IS MCLARENS POSTER BOY) if you can't see that then shame on you.

 

Along with I'm sure dozens of other young drivers.
RD scouts more than others rather than picking the obvious choices in feeder series.
He is Mclarens "poster boy" because of his hard earned results. Not to take advantage of his notoriety would be plain foolish ( and unprofitable ).

 

So what!! It still makes your statement look as if you wouldn't recognize a brillant talent if it painted itself purple and danced naked on a harpsicord singing brillant drivers are here again..

 

IF LH manages to pull off the WDC, F1 will finally make it to the first page of the News, much as The Danica did.
US TV will finally have a "story to tell" about F1 not seen since Lauda's comeback. This is what motivates the media.
They can wrap , WDC, Rookie status , his ethnicity , and Stepneygate into a lead item and run with it.
This is good for F1 in the USA.
Like any Rock , Movie , or sports superstar, if you are told a million times a day how fantastic you are it begins to affect you.
I think his level-headedness so far has been astonishing.

LOL...My wife teases me for not being very observant (and in most cases she's right) but I think even I would notice that!
