I took my 2005 360 F1 out for a drive today. When I reached 80 MPH the car started BEEPING and it would not allow me to go beyond 80 MPH. It did the same in 5th and 6th gears and the AUTO mode as well. There was
    NO WARNING LIGHTS that appeared.

After an hour cool down, I drove it back home and it seemed to be OK at 80 MPH and beyond.
Has anyone else ever had a similar problem and any recommendations for me?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sounds like you over heated the clutch somehow.

Thanks for the possible answer to what happened. Has that ever happened to you before that you think this was the problem? It seems to be OK now so I will just see how it goes from here.

Yes this has happened to me. Before my belt service i did a number of, well smokey burnouts and over heated the old clutch.
The car would not go over a certain mph. After it cooled off it was fine!
I just figured I was getting a new clutch anyway so I launched it very hard many times, F1's are pretty fast off the line with some practice!

So, do you all think that my F1 clutch at only 3,500 miles is worn too much?
Or (I hope) I just get a bit over zealous when I was taking off the line against another Ferrari today?

Does anyone have any exact temps that the clutch has to reach to reach the point of over heating? Would be an interesting bit of info to know
