Was very sad to hear the news. Although I don't follow rally too much, I can certainly appreciate and respect a great talent - and that he was. So young, and his 5-year old gone too, along with others. My heart goes out to the family and friends of those departed.

    RIP

Very shocking and sad news. Hopefully he is up there racing against his old rival Richard Burns.

Has there been any news about the cause of the accident? I haven't seen any more stories on it.

You may want to pick up the premier issue of 0-60 Magazine that is on sale now. I was walking by and the cover caught my eye, "Crashing at Colin McRae's" http://www.0-60mag.com/magazine.php.
I don't know when it was written but they stayed at his home in Scotland for two days and wrote about their experience with him and his upcoming rally car. There is a little blurb about him taking up flying helicopters too.

I would hope that they at least tried to pull it off the shelves after the accident, seeing as how the accident did actually occur at his estate.

Very sad indeed. Reminds me of when,as a kid, Thurman Munson died in his plane. If men were meant to fly they'd have wings. How many famous people (read people w/money) die in plane / helicopter crashes?

I remember the Thurman Munson case. And several previous incidents from Thurman Munson. The ability to buy a plane doesn't give you the ability to fly it. Try, "If man means to fly, he'd have flight instruction".

Not at all a parallel to Colin, who reportedly was a well skilled pilot.
