Other toys, gotta stick with Italian Stuff right? In case anyone is interested the MV is 1 of 50 and all of the body work(everything except the mirrors) is carbon including the fuel tank, wheels are magnesium and the exhaust system is titanium. Ahh.. the Italians, such artists, Regards, Vern

Thanks Vasco I have to agree there is some about MVs, as Ferraris, that fuels the imagination/lust(hard to find the proper words) in me.

Wasn't the MV engine developed in cooperation with Ferrari?

Not totally.......It's just a Suzuki 1000cc engine retuned with some old Ferrari technology. (Valves, cams)

Good engine, but nowhere near the 180hp that the new Yamaha and Honda street engines are making these days.

You need to let me know about that one, I have never read anything on an MV suzuki connection LOL. oh by the way that bike in the picture is 750 not a liter.

Have you ever sat a Japanese bike next to a MV? kinda like setting a honda next to a Ferrari, comparing an appliance with engineering artwork.Don't get me wrong I own a Suzuki 600 and like it too, but there is no comparison in the execution of the parts and pieces.
There are a lot of cars faster than a Ferrari(that cost less) as well bikes faster than the MV but at the end of the day they are what they are and...well, an MV and Ferrari are what they are.

The Cagiva Raptor 650 is actually a Suzuki 650 SV engine, and the original MV 750 was a re-tuned GSXR-750 engine.

I'm assuming the 1000cc engine was developed the same way?

Vern, I have also heard a while ago that the MV's have re-tunned Suzuki motors. But no worries, that bike is totally amazing and different in SOOO many ways.

You are right, you can't compare it to these regular Japanese crotch rockets....even if they are faster etc.

The Cagiva Raptor 650 may be related the 650 Suzuki but F4 motors are not. The F4 motor was taken from a Ferrari early 90s F1 engine that was never used. The Cagiva engineers reworked the design for their use. The early idea was to market it as a Ferrari built by Cagiva but after they changed most of the original design the claim wouldn't stick anymore. I could fine nothing linking the F4 engine to Suzuki and by the way even if it was linked that is nothing to be ashamed of, as you seem to imply, Suzuki is a great company.

Bimota and Benelli have been known to use both Ducati 900 cc and Suzuki 1000 cc twin cyl. engines in their bikes too.

Vern, I'm not doubting the quality of the MV Agusta.....or I wouldn't have had this in my garage: :)
