Why would they be replicas ? Do you think Enzo built each and single car himself until he died ?

 

Will there be no F1 without Bernie Ecclestone? He was gave the brand his character. That lasts. And he was no saint by the way. Selling GT cars, he didn't like, then V8s he didn?t even see in the same class as his V12 GTs. But marketiing and the need to earn money got him to built those, as it would do with a modern manager - and thus building the Ferraris we all love.

 

I guess if you are a collector this would be a valif arguement.

 

"Replicas" is the wrong word. Ferrari doesn't do replicas of its own cars.

Ford does, with the Mustang, GT and Thunderbird.

 

Unlike the NY Mets, Ferriaris have gotten better since the 80's

If you're referring to the 125 that Kimi drove at their 60th yes. Otherwise no.

 

No bcus they were not built by Enzo they were built by his company Ferrari Spa. which as a corporation is a legal person

 

Headed to museums? I doubt it, but I personally think that those that were created during his lifetime will certainly bring a lot
more money than those made afterwards. Common sense tell us that the older cars are worth more than the newer ones. So,
just looking at the Ferrari market of the past, I would say that a 512BBi will certainly be on the upward swing while the 599 will
drop (at least for a while). Look at the prices of F430's. They have already begun to come down. Of course, supercars are
going to be the exception to the rule. Enzo saw the F40 production, but not the F50, Enzo, and FXX. Their limited production
runs will keep their prices high. Will you ever see a 308 selling for over $100K? I wouldn't hold my breath.

Ford has introduced refined iterations of previous successes. Just as modern Ferraris are refined iterations of their forebears. In the case of Ford, acceptance of the GT and T-Bird was lackluster, and badly marketed and priced. The Mustang, on the other hand has been a huge success.

I owned a Lusso for many years. Gorgeous but, not terribly reliable. Both my 360 and my 575M are driven with confidence. If I add the total maintenance costs of both latter cars per year, it does not come close to the annual cost of the Lusso. I bought my '04 T-Bird on a lark in '05 at half its sticker price. I am surprised at how much I have enjoyed it, how reliable it has been, and at how it has not depreciated. Different strokes, I suppose.
