Hi, do you guys know how can I blacken my exhaust tips? Matt black look.
Actually I want the whole pipe to look black, not just the tips. I'll check if my local boys do black powder or ceramic coating. But do you guys know if a black exhaust system retains or release heat faster?
Try Black Satin(one of the best)......keeps heat in(which is what you want in the exh.) and reduces radiant heat.
You want to keep heat in. Flows faster and lowers under hood temp. Color has no effect. Ceramic coatings are the way to go.
Spot on...color has NO EFFECT. "Black Satin" is a product trade name, and denotes a specific chemical composition...it just happens to be produced in a satin black finish. I never use any coating that has the "AL" element in its' chemical composition.
Yes, that's right. My muffler was so hot it started to warp my license plate! Did heat wrap & helped. The shiny tubi on my old testa melted the wirings from the rear lights & so did those 355 & 360s. Looks like I have to get ceramic coating but does white or black make no diff? I know black is a better conductor of heat while silver expels (works on roofing material) but when it's a hot metal pipe/box with hot exhaust running through it? My friend ordered a pair of Larini sports Cats & they were white ceramic coated.
