Who out there have just kept adding more and more Ferrari's without selling or trading theirs in? Who started out with a 308/328 then added a 355, then a 360, then a 430, etc. Maybe someone went the opposite direction and started off with a 430, then wanted something older (TR), then even older (308), and then dipped into a classic (330, etc) without really ever getting rid of any of their cars until they had a small collection of multiple horses? Share your experience, I'd love to hear.

How many years/months/(days!) apart did you get your others? Was it always a goal to have a small collection or did you just kind of get addicted without even knowing it? Did anyone buy a 60's model and then maybe out of the blue buy a 430 40 some odd years down the road?

Lots of people do this, but not necessarily just with Ferraris. Ferrari collectors include John Shirley and the McCaw brothers.

Come to think of it, most car collectors are like this -- they grow until they have nowhere else to put cars (says the guy with four cars in the three car garage, one in a Costco garage on the side of the house and one at a friend's place!)

I was hanging out with Phil and Martha Bachman one day. We were talking about their Ferraris and Martha turned to me and said, "You know, there's one thing Phil's never done with any of his cars." "Crashed?" I said. She laughed and said he does that all the time (on the track). "No," she continued, "he's never sold one." Phil's first Ferrari was a yellow 308. And now his collection is extensive, including vintage, classic and contemporary Ferraris. He's even got a yellow Enzo and the only yellow FXX. The care and attention with which Phil and Martha treat all of their cars is admirable to say the least. And their cars... Wow...

I was hoping to start doing that myself. I have an '03 360 F1 Spider, want to add a manual shift 550 next, then maybe a F355, then after the 599GT has been out for a few years and falls to reasonable prices I would like to get one of those. Ultimately I would like to pick up an F40 and an Enzo, but only if either prices comes down on them someday, or my wealth builds big enough to engulf then :)

F car prices seems to be down a bit right now at least on the newer ones and not much is moving since the sellers don't want to drop their prices at all so it's been tough to get a decent deal going. Tried to get a 328 awhile back but it fell through.

I got into the F game just a little late. I wanted to start with a blue 246GTS but now that the price has gone through the ceiling on those it's at the bottom of my list.

I've recently been looking at the 512TR's also, love that gray color that is out there.

At the end of the day - I've got a lot of dreams on this front and a looonnngggg ways to go :)
