I'm in the process of installing my birdman fuseblocks. I like another poster had some trepedation on touching something that has never , ever gave me any trouble & I have owned the car for 21 years. I digress, I do have some melting & loose terminals on the RH block that I removed last nite, so I guess Im doing the right thing. While I am at it, I decided to change the relays, but I cant find them. looking @ the repair manual they should be below the glove box, I removed the trim & the only thing there is more wires & carpet. There is a vent in what looks like a heater duct covered in black carpet, but I cant see any wires going into it or a way to remove it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

My car was built in 2/1975 sn 10224.

In my '75 GT4 they are behind a piece of sheetmetal at the front of the passenger footwell.

In my 78' they are right next to the fuse blocks on the passenger side just under the dash. Behind the removable pannel.

Under the carpeting where the footwell turns vertical.

    <sigh> haven't I told you?

The old Bosch #'s have been superseeded. The new relays are brown and purple. Give these folks the old #'s and they'll give you the new ones.
If you have trouble let me know I have them written down.

    Thanks, I'll look tonite

The new Birdman fuse blocks havent been exactly an easy task as I had thought
The wires are very short in there & have had a few melted ends, as well as a confined space, especially working with the left box.

Tip for those doing an early GT4 after much cursing trying to get the left side done , the space is quite tight & the far left screw needed a offset driver to reinstall , when as I was leaning against the portion of the box with the driver, it moved. Turns out with a little more prodding this piece actually was just pressed in there. It covers the latch lock & glove box lite mechanisim. It is a carpeted metal box, that once removed gave me all the space in the world. I wish I discoverd that ahead of time, would have saved me an hour or so of frustration.

I also had to bend the bottom wire attachments in to clear the 1/2 inch metal lip that protects the wires at the bottom of the fuse block. Hopefully nothing will short out when I finish the job tonite.

    NOW you're telling us!!!

Just put in Sam Saprunoff's fuse boxes, and gave up on the lefthand screw of the lefthand (white) fuse block. Just did not seem to want to get it in...

And indeed, those wires are SHORT!!!!

Hans, pull the bulb out , & wiggle the cover a little & will pop rite out, I kept dropping the spacer out of that side then the screw would drop behind the panel, after 10 times or so I was about to give up. Thats when I brought out this neat little offset ratchet screwdriver.I had limited space for it ,when i pressed against it it moved, & broke the bulb.

took lil dino to the ATl italian car day today, & everything worked! with the birdman fuseblocks in my windows down is significantly faster, seems to turnover faster too. All in all a worthwile improvement for short $$. Just GT4 owners pull that cover off first & save the suffering.

Next to do, my new $100 brembos rear rotors from tire rack!
