I'm wondering if there are supposed to be 2 holes in the rear lid on both ends or one additional one in the middle. I ordered a new one from black barts and it came with three studs attached but my rear lid has only the two. My car has been repainted so I thought maybe one got filled in. Can't tell from inside. I like the idea of attaching in the middle, I think it will be flusher to the lid, but don't really want to drill a hole in the lid unless it was supposed to be there in the first place. Can anyone inform me how many holes and the stock attachment method? I assume the scripts from black-barts are reproductions, not stock.

genuine Ferrari 61025000, which is spec for a 328, uses a 2-post connection.

They do have adhesive tape if memory serves correctly. When I installed one on my 348, I remember Luca playing with the backing paper that I peeled off in one continuous "Ferrari" script.

The pins/clips hold it in place; the adhesive keeps it nice and flush.

I actually stuck my engine in a Ford F150 so no one suspects it's a Ferrari engine. No risk of keying now, plus stone chips are no biggie.

So the adhesive tape is the shape of the emblem? Would've thought it was just a straight line. Mine probably needs replacing.

My car has the hole in the anterior/posterior brace but not in the trunk lid. The one I took off had two studs and was clipped on, not screwed on. Are you positive that it is original? Looks like the one I got from Black Barts. The middle post looks off center too which makes me suspicious as to it's originality.

Sorry, i should have told you.
The nuts are not original, it used to be clipped.
When i removed the clips two of three broke.
For ease of removal i put some treads on the post.
Now its easy to take the scrip of when i want to polish the rear deck.

This scrip is original for my '81 308.
The middle post is normaly capped wilt a rubber cap, i removed it for the foto.

You're the first to say 3 posts, sorry, I'm a bit skeptical still.

I'm beginning to think securing with double sided tape only is best, that way if some a...hole trying to remove it won't damage anything else. Maybe the two screw aren't a good idea for that reason, but, generally it's not unattended anyway...

    thanks

    Jeff

One thing you might want to try, is installing barrel clips, you just push the emblem. They make it easy when waxing the car, just pop them off. Any auto body supply has them. I have ben using them for years on al my cars.
