No one is going to take anyone out; you'll see LH drive a conservative race and try to keep FA either behind him or in the place immediately in front of him so if FA is second LH will be content to hang in third; the Ferraris can be the real spoilers here, especially Massa as he has nothing to lose; KR won't win it as I think 7 points is realistically too much to make up-thank you FIA and your Japan email screw-up-it could have made Brazil a real barn burner as I think KR would have at least finished second and been 2 points closer.....

Everyone will be on fresh engines-not necessarily a good thing....qualifying will be exciting but I have a strange feeling Massa will fly off the road trying to play hometown hero and start at the back....KR will need amazing luck to win but maybe the law of averages will work in his favor after years of bad luck at McLaren......it should be a good one and hopefully the season will end on a high note after the entire spying fiasco....last thing F1 needs is more controversy....at least if KR wins it all there shouldn't be any "tainted" talk about his WDC...

I hope and pray that you are correct, I would love to see Kimi win the race and the WDC for 2007.

Kimi will basically need to have LH drop out and finish first, Massa second and FA third to win-don't think it will occur but crazier stuff has happened....

Now is the time when you look back on all the mistakes that were made during the course of the season....coulda, shoulda, woulda.....

As the old saying goes, F1 spelled backwards is IF. Hopefully we will have another 1986 with Kimi as Prost and the other 2 guys as the Williams drivers of 1986.

Don't worry Tony. Kimi has already been showing lately he's an ideal replacement for MS. controlled race, and ice cold as always. even if he doesn't win this year, i'm sure he'll run away with the WDC next year. even if he doesn't, Massa will ;)

this season, as much as i would like to see Kimbo being a WDC, it doesn't really matter anymore who gets the crown, thanks to the spygate.

Sao Paulo is a similar track to Turkey.

Ferrari front row in qualifying with Massa on Pole.
Massa will lead the race with Kimi second Alonso third and Hamilton fouth.
If for any reason Hami drops lower than fifth Massa will let Kimi by otherwise Massa will win and Kimi second.

That sounds a lot easier then it is. Imagine Fernando is in first, and a Ferrari is in second, and Lewis is in third. It's the last lap and you're the Ferrari driver. You decide who gets to be world champion, Fernando or Lewis.

Don't tell me you wouldn't have an off-track adventure.

If Ferrari finishes 1-2, and both McLarens DNF, would Ferrari have won the WCC outright?

    NOPE!

Actually, it depends on what you mean by outright. If we minus the Hungarian GP points, then Ferrari will win with a 1-2 and 2 Mclaren DNFs, but if we don't minus those Hungarian GP points, then Ferrari would have already lost the WCC.

Actually many on here have stated that they will stop supporting Ferrari and walk away. I hope they stick to their promise. But I'm not holding my breath.

TifosiRon said that but I don't believe him. The rest? Who cares. Either you support the team or you do not, the driver is only one element. They come and go but Ferrari has been in F1 for its entire history. I am sure they have employed disagreeable drivers in their past.

On a sidenote: I was watching the Ralph Lauren documentary about his car collection on Discovery last week and there was an interview with LdM explaining the myth/attraction of Ferrari and he said one of its strongest selling points is an uninterrupted participation in F1 since the beginning. So much for all those who think/suggest Ferrari should leave F1 in favor of ALMS or some other lowlier racing form. No matter what shenanigans the FIA pulls, Ferrari's image is tied directly to F1. As somebody here once said: Without F1 Ferrari would be just another Lamborghini.

Complete nonsense. Ferrari is much, much more than just F1. They've competed and won championships in sports car racing and GT racing and built their legendary status with those classes as much as or arguably even more than just F1. Enzo himself has threatened to leave F1 at least once (and Ferrari officially didn't participate in one or two races in the year Surtees became champion. So much for continuity).
I wouldn't mind if Ferrari would leave F1 and turn their efforts into GT or sports car racing. F1 has become incredibly boring and I've thought about not following F1 anymore several times this year save for supporting Ferrari. The FIA really has to do something about F1 to make it more attractive again on track. This year only two out of fifteen races have not been won from pole. All races have been won from the front row. How predictable is that? If it wasn't for the rain in Fuji and Shanghai those two races would have been a complete bore too (and even those two races were won from the front row).

Most of Ferraris non F1 victories are long gone memories by now. So are the races, Mille Miglia, Targa Florio etc. Today's racing is F1 and WRC (which doesn't really fit Ferrari's image). F1 is what the world watches, not GT, ALMS or anything else.

If Ferrari would leave F1, I'd sell my 308. I want a car from a manufacturer who has the gutts to duke it out at the top level of motorsports.

So I assume you can relate to F1 because you own a 308? Wouldn't it be even cooler to see a car winning races that resembles your 308?! That's how it was even up to the early eighties when the Daytona and BB owners could really see "their" car racing and winning on the track. That would be much more attractive to me (and maybe that's why I drive an Impreza because I can relate to the many WRC victories. Even though of course a road version is nothing like a real WRC or even group N car). How cool would it be to see a 599 GT racing and winning? I also think that wherever Ferrari goes the fans and other manufactures will follow and it would enhance the championship's status.

p.s. the Mille Miglia is still very much alive, albeit in a retro version (and so are the Tour Auto, Goodwood, Le Mans etc.) I can recommend go and see one of those events. You'll be hooked as a race fan.

Same holds true for the Targa Florio. Heck even for Bejing - Paris, but none of that really counts towards current racing. It is fun though. I drove Mille Miglia myself in a rental car outside of the retro event. Just to do it. Fantastic roads. :)

Actually for me it was the other way around: I have been a lifelong fan of F1 because it represents the pinnacle of motor racing. The love for Ferrari came only later, but it is because of their involvement with F1. I was a Williams fan first, but you can't buy a Williams for road use, so I had to switch. :)

I find motor racing in any form so far removed from street cars, that to me it makes little difference whether I see a unique F1 shape or the skin of a 599 racing. I know that underneath they have nothing left to do anymore with my road car. Having said this, it is still cool to see some of the trickle down stuff like eg. the Manettino on the 430 wheel etc.

If sports car racing would be the king of motorsports, I'd be following that, but it isn't. Life is too short to follow it all.

I hope it never comes to Ferrari leaving F1. As currently there is no other car manufacturer that has anything interesting to drive. Except Spyker, but they're soon history.

An off-track adventure...? Would you purposely knock out Hamilton, and let Fernando win?

You can try to knock out Fernando as well, but it would be more difficult to reach him if he is too far ahead.
