Something's not right, there is no way this car should sell for over $50K anywhere on this planet.

In Australia thats cheap. A typical Australian delivered (not glass) 308 would sell anywhere from 65-75k AUS, so around 55-70k US.
    328's sell for 100-130ish AUS

You guys have it good with 20k cars!

Well it would all day long sell for over $50k in most of Europe. These cars are much cheaper in the US than anywhere else. This is sure to change with more and more being exported.

No such thing as a 20K car....unless you include the 20K plus you need to add to make it run ;)

Definitely something fishy. Just look at the bids.

    1. The last bidder goes from $29K to $52K in the space of one minute. (why not bid the car up in increments of $5K instead)
    2. All the bids are on the same day over a six hour time span. Since the 9th of October -no bids.

+1. Not in North America anyway especially since the Canadian dollar is now basically par with the US greenback. Something's amiss here.

There is no way the last bidder will follow through with the transaction. You don't just up your bid by 23K. Even if it is Clint Eastwood's car (which it is not).

"Had all belts changed 500 miles ago." When was that? In 1990? It is frustrating when people don't list the date the belts were changed, because it is definitely relevant to the value of the car.

Surely, you must be joking.....who buys a 308 for the same money a 328 or a 348 brings? A fool and his money are soon parted....

Again, everyone thinks that because they see it for sale in the autotrader thats the price.

There are many 308s that have sold for over 50K that are not glass cars.....stop living in a vacuum guys....just because you wouldnt buy it, doesnt mean there is no one else in the world.

Me ..... thats whio.....for example i spent more for a 308 glass car than the price of a 328 or a 348....why ?? because for the same money the 328s/348s were a mess....compare apples with apples.

Stop thinking you guys are the end all and be all when it comes to these cars and its price points.

I'm not joking and don't call me Shirley. :) Sooner or later the 308 is going to start to appreciate in value. I do agree with others though that this does seem not entirely legit.

Remember asking price is different from actual price.... Also remember about 5 years back 2+2s were asking and trading in the 50-60K range? Now look, they are in the 90-110 range.... It's just a matter of time.

Now normally I don't agree with Mr. Red on much but in this case he has a very valid point. In the US we live in a VERY nice little vacuum. Here these non glass cars don't go for much money (in Ferrari terms). It could be the snobbery of it being viewed as "an entry-level starter car". It could be the Magnum P.I. "stigma". (Or that twit Sheehan's Market Report) Who knows. But 308s overseas and up in the Great White North seem to fetch at least 10K more than here (not counting VAT). I personally think 50K, even overseas, for a good driver is nuts. Maybe a babied original, with low miles, that also has had ALL the rubber bits replaced would be a deal at 50K. So, get 'em while you can boys and girls before our Euro brothers and sisters do to the Ferrari market in the US what they did to the LBC market 15 years ago!

Personally, I dont think so either, but I'm sure people have said that same thing about the silly little Fiat V-6 called the 206/246 Dino. Yes there are differences in the comparison, but I would have never thought I would see 328 prices top 348s.

Who buys a 328 at a higher price than a 348? 3.2 transverse mounted 250 HP for more money than a 300 HP 3.4L longitudinal V-8? Strange, but recently 328 prices have topped 348s, read the threads.

The dino power/performance vs price is a great example of how the 348 doesnt outprice a 328, its styling. I would rather have a 308 over a 328 anyday because I like the older styling, the interior appeals to me more than the rocker buttoned 328 does, the euro 308 look kills the 328 IMO so I would pay more for a 308 if it was in outstanding condition.

I amazed that more cars aren't being snapped up, crated, and sent overseas. Ferraris are at bargain basement prices in the US if you live in europe.

The average 400i will cost you 50% less in the US than in europe. Imagine if it were the other way around. What if you could jump on a plane right now and pick up a 200 series Dino over in europe for 40 to 60 grand? How about a BB for 50k? Lots of you would be racking up some serious frequient flier miles.

Ususally the US cars are heavier, and less HP and little changes in the style that make them less attractive for the Euro market.
Case in point, look at a Euro and US spec 308 glass car... different.

I stand by my words, this auction is shaddy. I have bought and sold 12 of my Ferraris on Ebay so I know a red flag when I see one.
a 90K kilometer 308 QV with no AC, no books and tools should not sell for 348 and 328 money, unless you are that ignorant. That said, the high bidder is related to the buyer, just my 2 cents.
I'll bet my own Diablo this car stays where it is after the auction ends over $50K.
