My wife wants a good kitchen mixer. She used a Bosch today that she liked. Better than a Kitchen Aid according to her. Anyone else know of a kick ass kitchen mixer?

+1 I worked in many fine dining (4star plus) restaurants and we always used Kitchen Aid mixers. They're rock solid and do what you want. If you want something "better", well I'd have to ask what do you mean by better?

My wife uses the Hobart N50.

It makes the KitchenAid models you see at Williams-Sonoma look like a child's toy in comparison. It also does away with the silly colors found on the KitchenAid models. My wife had the KitchenAid KM25G0X which was fine, but the Hobart is on another level.

Anyone you get over $275 will be nice. Melodie uses the standard Kitchen Aid and the pasta attachments are pretty cool! I like it for making cookies, as not only am I cheap, I'm lazy!

Yeah, and it's only like 7x as expensive as a Kitchen Aid. Better be on another level for that money. What the hell is your wife mixing up anyway? Asphalt? :)

Have to agree with the Hobart comments. They will run forever.

I have 4 of these - and use them every day....

They are probably a bit much for a private kitchen though - it's a real pain to try and lug 1,300 pounds in and out of the cabinet... :)

I lied, it was the Hobart mixers we used. Was thinking Kitchen Aid for some reason...sorry.

Depends on what you want to use it for.

    Smoothies ?

I had a KitchenAid, it went bad, I was told they don't make parts for it anymore, and it was only 12 years old.

Kitchen Aid mixers are awsome. We have dropped and abused the crap out of the mixer we have and it has never gone wrong once, ever.
