That reminds me of when a friend of mine died suddenly a year out of high school. He was tragicly electrocuted his first day on the job. Sadly in front of his uncle, and 2 days shy of his 19th birthday.

Two events happened after that. At his funeral, the A/C went out just as the funeral began and turned on again promptly at the end. He was a practical joker and we all took it as a sign that his spirit was alive and well with us.

Then at a party that was thrown in his memory, a small pile of pine neetles began to swirl out of no where. The wind was not blowing at all. And they stayed in this small area, like a mini tornado. I've seen the video that was being recorded at the time as well, and it really gives me the chills.

    HELL NO!

Have you ever watched those shows where the people enter haunted castles, mental hospitals, houses, etc. and have all kinds of crazy stuff happen to them? They always run back to "base" screaming in terror. I guess there's a part of me that wonders if everything is staged, but I would never stick around to find out!

    P.S. I'm a scaredy cat. :)

Perhaps not, Doc. Nonetheless, back in the 1960's, as a spoiled kid, I had a 1965 396 Corvette which I drove stupidly. One night, coming home from a date, I was driving way too fast, and as I approached a curve, impossible to take at that speed, there was a young woman in the middle of the road dressed in early 20th century garb. White long dress and high hair-do. I slammed on the brakes and went sideways to a stop. There was nobody there. I got out and looked. Nobody there. My Grandmother was devoted to me, a thing I never deserved. Thirty years later, I discovered a picture of her dressed exactly that way. Could it be that she saved my life? She was a beautiful woman in her time. I don't think I could forget those eyes. Those eyes. That smile. Something kept me from disaster that night. On the night she died, she called me into the room, called my name and gave me a hug. The next morning, she was gone. Every time I get into the 575 I look right, out of reflex. Just checking out the rider.

I believe it although have never experienced anything like that. It would have been interesting to get one of those paranormal people in to do their thing with the spirits. OTOH, you had nothing to prove so probably no point in it. Interesting story.

About 3 months before my parents divorced I had a dream that my Father, got married to another woman and moved off one day, I never saw him again. 3 months later they told us they were seperating and 6 months later my dad introduced me to his new girlfriend/soon to be wife. She looked exactly like the lady in the dream. EXACTLY LIKE HER. He hasn't moved away, but I still don't see that much of him....

Seriously, that must have been a *wow* for the ages.

There's a thread laying around somewhere with Ghost Stories, I shared some experiences on that. As some psychic (not the Jeanne Dixon type) and ghost encounters go - yeah, I'm in.

I also don't think I'd be afraid to keep spirits company in a haunted location.

I say "think" 'cause when it's a truly dark spirit, man, oh, man can you feel their bad vibe - without prior knowledge of their presence.

Well lets see. Are you a Christian? If so you believe in a place that dead peoples spirits go for eternity. Its either heaven or hell. Your god travels all over the place and his helpers are seen and reveared all over the world anytime thay are spotted.
In the Catholic religion there is an entity called the "Holy Ghost". You might want to rethink this a little bit.

I don't usually go for this stuff, but...
My current wife owned a large house in a low-rent part of Sonoma. She used it as a rent house for several years after we got married. For some reason, there was one bedroom in the place where NO ONE would ever sleep/put there kids/whatever...nobody ever felt comfortable in that room...it was always cold; little 'shocks' when you are in it...
We found out after that there was something very unpleasant discovered in that room, and in the back yard.
This stuff is very, very real.
If something doesn't feel 'right' it probably isn't...remember that.

Years ago, right after I got married, I was driving to work and my cellphone rang. Picked it up and it was my wife, I could tell still half asleep.(She was working nights at the hospital.) She asked me if I had my seatbelt on, and I replied yes, then she hung up. I tried to call back but she didnt answer. About one minute later I was stopped behind a bus and whamo!! got rear ended. Luckily I had a big lifted toyota truck, so the damage was minimal. When I got to work I called my wife and she answered still sounding like she just woke up. I said "you will never believe what happened after you called me this morning." But she said she didnt call me and had just woken up.

About seven years later, I was working late at the customizing shop I owned. At around 2AM my wife calls sounding half asleep and asks if all the doors are locked at the shop. I say yes and she hangs up. I decided that with that it was time for me to go home!! At 4am my home phone rings, because my alarm is going off at the shop, with all kinds of action on the sensors. Someone broke in and stole a bunch of stereo equiptment, and had opened the door on a 360 I had there, but the cops showed up so they bolted before they touched it! Again, after talking to her(This time at 4am while waiting for the alarm company to give me the goahead to go secure my building) she had no recolection of ever calling me.

Wow, weird. Leave the financial sections of the paper lying around your house and keep your cell phone close. If she calls with a stock tip make sure you hop on it ;)

I think that I know that Corvette. It was latered owned by an old guy who was driving it one winter night. He had a heart attack and the car skidded off the road into a snow bank where it was lost until spring time. As the weather warmed up and the snow melted, the old guy started to decompose. The Corvette has bounced around through many owners through the years for dirt cheap prices,.....because no matter HOW HARD you scrub the interior,.....you still can't get the smell out of it. It's a true story. You can find it on the internet!!!!!

I thought it was pretty well known that a lot of folks who live near power lines or have homes built on a certain type of stone (can't remember if it was limestone or granite?) tend to report more ghost "sightings" and claim to hear more "voices" than those who do not. I think it's a fairly plausible explanation. I lived near some power lines for a while and nothing unusual occurred. Considering the brain is an electrical device, I could imagine how this could happen however. I remember watching a show about this on the Discovery Channel last year.

EDIT: Found a link to some of this research: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/3046179.stm

Give me a break!. Nobody died in that car. You don't know about that or about any other Corvette. Put down the pipe for a minute. The car is currently in the possesion of a Gentleman in Maryland, in perfect original condition. When He is ready, I will buy it back.

I have lived under power lines for 34 years. They are big enough that that side of my yard is a vacant lot (you cannot build under them) In fact I bet you can't buy a house closer than mine to these things anywhere in the US.

    No ghosts. Not a one.

Could be because there are no such things. Or maybe they don't bother me because I know they do not exist.
