4-bolt "Dino" Campagnolos on an X1/9?...
4-bolt "Dino" Campagnolos on an X1/9? http://cgi.ebay.it/Fiat-X-1-9-fiches-csai_W0QQitemZ230149393801QQihZ013QQcategoryZ9843QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I'm no expert, but here's an opinion: Those appear to be Campagnolo Elektron wheels. The Dino Campys are nearly the same, if not identical, in design. Of course, the version for the Fiat is of the 4-bolt variety and may be a different diameter and width. Further, the original 'Elektron' for the Dino had the "Dino" script cast on the rim. Here's an excerpt from the Dino Register: Quote--"Wheels size 7 1/2 x 14 - wider wheel housings" The 7 1/2 inch wide wheels were always Campagnolo "Elektron" , but the factory never called them out by name. The standard wheels they replaced were made by Cromodora - 6 1/2 inch wide. -- End of Quote Hope this helps. Coop
you are seeing correctly, I had them on my 124 at one time back in the late 70's maybe early 80's. I swapped them for Dino style cromodora's again in 13" size. They were not common but available back then.
How about Miura wheels? ---> http://www.network54.com/Forum/112729/thread/1190254272/last-1190772009/Lamborghini+Miura+wheels+for+your+X1-9
Thanks all. I've also found them on a Fulvia: http://cgi.ebay.it/STUPENDA-LANCIA-FULVIA-MONTECARLO_W0QQitemZ230175357906QQihZ013QQcategoryZ9843QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (Those "Miura" wheels on that 128 are inspirational!)
Yes they are Campy's but are not "ferrari" rims Campagnolos Electrons were used on Lancia, Fiat, Simca, BMW, etc...... Larger sizes used on Pantera, Iso, Bizzarrini, Lambo and the list goes on....................
