I think you would really enjoy this drive!

    http://newyorkmotorclub.com/afternoon.pdf

The guys at the NYMC have worked hard to put together these small enjoyable drives but long enough to make it fun. They have also put together information for the Bear Mountain Inn where you can enjoy a great lunch

    Enjoy!

Bear mountain inn may be closed, i think october 1st. but as an alternative, check out Monteverde on Bear Mountain Ridge Rd. They have excellent food and an amazing view.

Join us for our run on November 3rd.

As for something this sunday, it would be nice to head out East on Long Island. There are plently of places to go with open highways in the AM on a Sunday.

Or I know a GOOD place up north if you are willing to take the drive. It is about 100 miles from you. It is a beautiful town and brewery up in the New Paltz area. Straight shot up the NY Thruway.

LIE to Ocean Parkway East to Robert Moses, run along the beach (watch you speed between meadowbrook and the last turnaround just passed the long beach parking lots), have a picnic at the Babylon Beach, no pass reqd this time of year, or go over the Causeway bridge for robt moses at the end, take Montauk Highway into West Bayshore and have lunch at the Milk and Sugar Cafe...if you wanted to continue east into LI I can suggest better places.

-A good spot to go for a ride in addition to the New Paltz area and Mohonk is the Rhinebeck and Millbrook area which is great for cruising. There is a lot of nice meadows and expansive views throughout the area. The villiage of Rhinebeck is great, you will find a lot of nice shops and restaurants there. The same goes for Millbrook. If your into wine you could visit the Millbrook winery for a tour. You can drive for hours out that way and not even see anyone.

This is a good time to go to CT. Colors are magnificent.
You can have a very good and romantic lunch at Mayflower Inn /www.relaischateaux.com/en/search-book/hotel-restaurant/mayflower/.
If you are interested then I will provide you with the rout.

Try a trip to the East end of Long Island - this time of the year you can drive without traffic jams and the water views and docks are great. North Shore or S shore are equally excellent especially for lunch.
