You're barking up a cloud. If Massa didn't gift Kimi a few races he would have scored more points than Kimi.
Kimi taking the dc as he did means 0 in the comparisons with Massa, quite the contrary.

If that were true, then you're implying that Ferrari got their team orders backwards. A big leap of faith.

    Not necessarily.

    No team orders:
The points that went to one person would be distributed to two people.
That's how (not nec. why) McL lost the dc. Massa's glass would be fuller, Kimi's emptier.

If the team orders were switched:
Kimi had nothing to give away, but Massa would put the points he gave
to Kimi into his own pocket. No WDC but Massa could be ahead in points.

There were times throughout this season I was ready to harvest one of these guys for myself and my faithful brethren of the new WDC. I now offer him to, well you know who you are.

    Forza Ferrari! Kimi's the King.

I think I would skip out on that bill for sure.

"If nothing breaks or crashes." Now that's a worry.

Also I plan on having my own track someday, so the classification of the car would be meaningless to me.

It was my impression that the only races Massa gave way to Kimi were Japan and Brazil. The points differences there were not enough to give Massa more points than Kimi in the end. Were there other races where he was forced to let Kimi through?

I'd worry about getting your first Ferrari before you think about your own track. I've got a few friends with their own track, and I can assure you that the cost is easiy several Ferraris.

Not when there are 3 paving companies in the family and this wouldn't be a Community based track, it would be my track, do driver events, no renting it out, no pit lane, just pavement.

I still don't have a Ferrari because there are soo few to choose from here. The two that made my list are over priced and one needs $8,000 worth of work on top of it being about $13,000 over what I would expect it to be. Besides with the short driving season here, it might make more sense to get a track car than a Ferrari. When I move back to the states, I'll start looking for probably a 360.

I didn't do any calculations so let's see

+3 ... in Japan - but he may have gotten passed kovalainen for 2nd.
    +2 ... in Brazil
China - personally, I'm not buying that mistake in quali which mimicked the Brazil one.
So, I'll do at least +2, but you don't have to.

that's 7 points but could also be 9-11.
    So he could have 101-105

As F very correctly realized, not enough for the DC,
but he and Kimi would have been battling each other,
    rather than the McL guys.

Massa gifted Kimi 3 points (1 in Japan, 2 in Brazil) (Massa lost 3 points in Japan but Kimi only got 1). So Massa 99, Kimi 107
Had Massa and Kimi been racing each other in Brazil, there is no way to know who would have won.
The orders went both ways in Brazil, Massa would be in a position to win if Kimi would not benefit.

Give me a break. You're all pissed because Kimi's faster than Massa and all the die-hards were right with their predictions at the beginning of the year...? I know that I blatantly stated that Kimi would win the 2007 Championship midway through the season when he was 4th in the standings and also said that he'd beat Massa in points as well (when Massa had a points lead on Raikkonen).

I can understand that you guys like Felipe's attitude and loyalty and work ethic, but hey at the end of the day it's whoever is the faster driver. I think you are all crazy to think Felipe has a chance against Kimi next year when traction control will take a big hit. Look at Massa's rain results this year. He improved, but he wasn't going to win in the rain consistently. Sorry, this isn't just speculation, it's reality.

Andreas, while I have not driven an actual F1 car, I have driven the ex-Buddy Rice Rahal-Letterman Indy car. The attached photo is of me sitting in it prior to starting it up and putting the rear wing back on. The steering was set up for a speedway, so I didn't get moving very fast as the steering wheel moved maybe 3-5 inches side to side.

Frankie, no offense, but you're an idiot when it comes to Formula One knowledge. Alonso this, Fernando that. We know your agenda by now. You should just type a period in every one of your posts and send it; the message would still be the same.

Frankly (pun intended...haha), I'm actually surprised that you haven't been given a sabbatical by now.

Can someone please put Tillman's name back in the title...? He brought this on himself moaning and pissing on Kimi every chance he got.

Haven't you had enough backhands yet?

I told you before that you stalk me all over the forum - you just did it again. I also said on the other thread that you couldn't help yourself responding - I saw you had posted again. Once again, I was right about you. Neil the weirdo with anger management issues searching folks' background to try to make his point. Creepy.

I said before Kimi did very well - it was a long shot for Ferrari and they got really lucky, as McLaren got equally unlucky.

Time to start doing searches on my posts to find other threads to argue in. I am flattered you devote this much attention to me - makes it all worthwhile :)

EDIT: I just realized that post was from weeks ago... damn... much bottled up anger kid? I don't remember anything you've ever posted... except one post in the Hogan crash thread where I said you made an excellent post and you said "I was due" - and I agree with your sentiment you expressed when you said that. The rest are utterly forgettable.

    Ron,

I believe Andreas and myself and a few others were Kimi holdouts from the beginning of the season? :)

How are you feeling these days big guy?

    LOL - right.

"I have been trying to buy a Ferrari for a while, I just can't seem to find one!".

Good luck making your own track. At some point reality will set in and we'll all have a good chuckle about it.

You define what most of us shake our heads at. You're a seasonal fan, and don't really "care" that much, hence your inaccurate predictions and perceptions. Nothing against you as a person, but how can you expect to be correct when you don't care?? Don't think I am leveling everything on you. We all have our own vices and hobbies. Have fun skiing, but I've got a ticker on my desktop counting down to March 16.

    Go Kimi.

About 120. I had it comfortably in 3rd gear, and that seemed slow for the car, but it's not mine to destroy so I didn't feel comfortable going faster.

Raikkonen could have passed Felipe on lap one, and admitted to not pushing hard in the first stint because they had it planned the whole time. People seem to think Massa could have won in Brazil, but we'll never know will we? Oh, nevermind. Kimi set fastest lap about 10 laps from the checkered flag didn't he?

Felipe beat Kimi to pole in Brazil, I will give you that.

Yep, he could've pulled an LH.

    >People seem to think Massa could have won in Brazil, but we'll never know will we? Oh, nevermind.

Yep, and I hope the never part continues and we'll never really know who is better,
because both are all over each other.

    >Kimi set fastest lap about 10 laps from the checkered flag didn't he?

Yep, Massa was going to set fastest lap whilst trying to look slower than Kimi,
    with some extra fuel.

    >Felipe beat Kimi to pole in Brazil

And blocked LH superbly which set the deck of cards
    better than Cinecita.

    >, I will give you that.[/QUOTE]
