360 Challenge has problems

Hello, I am new to ferrari chat and am extremely happy to speak with enlightened me such as most of you guys! First of all, i am not an owner (other then a few porsche). I am 14 (by the way sorry if i have any grammer mistakes) and am not planning on being in the financial situation needed to own a ferrari for some time (if i ever am).

I just thought i would share an experiance with a 360 challenge that i was a spectator to. About a year ago i was with our porsche club (i am the PCA kid in my area) at VIR (Virginia International Raceway). There was an AMAZING 360 challenge there. I just wanted to go up to it and kiss it (i fought off that temptation). Anyway, the owner wasnt a spectacular driver but he was ok. He was going through turn 1 and i think locked up the wheels and spun out and off the course (no harm done cosmetically). After stalling out and restarting the car, he realized that the car was stuck in 2nd and 3rd gears. This intrigued me so i asked my "uncle" who is really just our mechanic to explain about the problom (he didnt have much to say other then it was stuck in two gears). Jeff is his name, anyway he wanted to approach him to ask him if he would mind jeff looking at the problom. Jeff is one of the best mechanics in virginia.


Anyway, im sorry if this is in the wrong spot of the forum or whatever. I just wanted to introduce myself to you guys and to tell a story. Hope you guys are having a great week!

When you write like their yours, you may piss a lot of people off. Explore enjoy learn at fchat, and if your 14 dont be so hard on yourself, you never know if youll be able to get a 430 later on, i want one and am taking measures slowly to prepare, all in steps baby

Play nice! He owned up to who he is and didn't embellish. You can nit pick the words but the overstatement was obviously unintentional. When you were young you thought of the family cars as 'our cars' so it is an easy mistake.

Yea, sorry if i piss some of you guys off and you can call BS on me if you want but i bought 1977 911(in restoration process and is about to be restored) with the money i made from detailing cars. The 1974 914-4 was bought with half of my money half money from a fund set up by my grandfather. The 914 in question was owned before by my father but he needed money because his business (clothing) was moving and the economy isnt the greatest right now. The other 914 was bought as an investment about 3 weeks ago, and is up for sale. If you guys would like i can post pictures of the familys garage with my cars in it.

Sorry if im boring you guys with my stories but i hate it when people under estimate my drive to do well and try to pass what i worked so hard for off as me just being a rich kid with everything given to him.

 

Daniel.....we would be glad if you'd post pictures of your collection of Porsche cars and the restoration process and you are a very lucky young man if at 14 you can own a Porsche car. There is a "Let's see your Toys" thread in the "Showroom" section of this forum, where you can post your pictures.

Those pics are of the other 914. Its a racecar. Dad said it felt great. When we were driving it before i bought it the car stalled out (the carbourator is completely out of wack) and guesss what drove up... a state police car. We stalled out in the middle of the road 4 or 5 times before we got it going. (the car wasnt registered at this point) but the officer knew what we were going through and smiled and waved. Anyway... anyone wanna buy a porsche? i think im asking around 15,000, but there is a lot more in it. There is a 911 suspension and so much more under it. i can get a full list of all its mods.

3 Porsches that total what? 20K? I got money when I was that age to buy a car.. I got a new chevy blazer, this kid gets 3 used crapped out Porsches....good for him.

He did prove himself, that is true. But the words "14 years old" and "own 3 Porsches" don't often go together, esp. here. And after Vik, you can not help but understand mine, and a few others, skepticism. Hence the "challenge to prove ones self" card, and he did. (He may be the absolute first 14yo on this board to ever do so!)

So in light of the aforementioned proof, welcome to the board!

 

Miracles do happen .

 

The businesses are a detailing business and car storage. I am looking a a property for both (on one lot). The lot would probobly be payed for with the fund my grandfather set up for me in the event that i did manage to think up a business idea. The other option for paying for the lot (and buildings that were going to be built) is putting a mortgage on it. So my ideas are hardly lemonade stands and newspaper routes (though i did check into the newspaper route)

 

And the the 914's are hardly used crapped cars. They may be used but they are not "crap". Or i guess they are relative to a ferrari but most people would agree they are not crap.

I guess one could argue the 911S is crap right now but that WILL NOT be the case in about 2 years when everything is finished. The cars i bought were bought as an investment (or thats how i pursuaded my dad to let me write the checks) and will probobly be sold in a few years in order for me to buy my first (reliable) car.

 

Its all good! I was exaggerating the condition to make a point.

It always feels good when men say good luck with what you are doing because i know what it feels like to get laughed at by an elder. And then i usually offer the person that laughs at me 50% off their 1st detail and they always come back.

That is not necessarily true. I am certainly not accusing Daniel of anything as he may very well own those three cars, but posting pictures of 3 Porsches on the internet certainly does not establish ownership. Those cars could belong to him, a family member, a friend or they could just be pictures he found on the web somewhere. Again, I am not accusing him of lying, they could be his cars but I could also show you a picture of my father's 1966 Mini cooper S, his 1938 Jaguar Mark IV and one of his several XK 120's and claim they are mine. It wouldn't be true but I certainly could do it.
