A while back I posted about a coolant leak at the front of the car when I turned the heaters on to bleed the system. So I've now discovered that one of the heater valves is leaking. Ricambi says it's NLA, but has a price of $240. Is this thing rebuildable? Also, when I turn the heating system on, the valves sound like they are both operating, but there is no heat (the hoses remain cold). This would appear to be a thermostat issue, but the car has never had an overheating problem. I just would spit out a little coolant after every drive, thus the air bleeding procedure that prompted this discovery. Anyone else gone through this?

Have you checked BOTH heater cores ? They leak.

You are going to have to pull that valve anyway, so pull it and see if it operates. If it does then you have some blockage. On the 308 there is a hose that leaves the rear head at the left side and makes the looong journey to the front of the car. I assume the 328 is the same. Does this hose get hot at the engine? If not you could have a blockage. Try blowing through that hose and see what you get. Maybe it is pinched by the routing past the fuel tank or something. Also on the 308 the heater return hose meets up with the cold side of the radiator. This could be pinched and stop flow. Or the cores could be clogged with debris. I'd start disconnecting hoses and blowing through them and see what happens.
