Please Tell Me How People Can be Such Pigs!!

It happens more than you'd car to know. They get out of touch with reality for a reason i.e. drugs, booze, mental etc. They did say the guy was taken to the hospital for an undisclosed medical problem.

 

I dont really see any difference between the mentality of those people in the article and anyone who litters, throws trash out of their car, or onto the sidewalk.

A pig is a pig. Little at a time or a whole lot in one spot.

 

in cannabalistic societies man is known as "long pig".

 

Big difference psychologically. Because someone is inconsiderate and litters is a far cry different than someone that lives in total filth. They're not all there mentally vs. someone littering is an @sshole.

 

They better check the 9yr old girl for sexual abuse... in my experience it comes with that territory

 

It really is a question of self-worth and personal responsibility as opposed to futility and a feeling of entitlement. Do you owe something to your country and community or do you feel everything is owed to you? Every trash day something falls through the cracks, especially if it is windy. It might be a coke can or some newsprint; maybe a plastic bag. I will pick it up, even if I have to stop the car down the street. Just part of my neighborhood responsibility. I don't drink coke and I don't throw away newsprint or plastic bags. I recycle. Still, I will not let it lay there. How, in driving through York, do I see that people can let trash build up right outside their doors is way beyond me. They do it.

Bingo! Let's face it, we're the problem. In this case, the people should have been turned in a long time ago by somone who knew what was going on there.

As for the rest of life, Zingara is right, we owe it to our society.

Here's another one for you. Dirt standing on the kids skin. The do not say it in the article, but a CPS officer said the bed sheets were so dirty they were black.

Even worse, I believe I went to elementary and high school with the mom.

Terrible.

These pigpen homes (That can be found in any major city) should be kept 'as-is' and used for a place that parents can send their kids for a weekend when they (the kids) are getting a bit too spoiled, out of control and hate their home life and parents. Let them see how good they have it with their clean homes, good Mom's and Dad's, big screen TV's, a fridge full of food, telephones, cell phones, internet, etc. $199.00 a night that could include a visit by the local police, ten minutes in handcuffs and five minutes in the back of a squad car. That should turn around any spoiled little brat!!!..............What do ya think?

 

That's a bit draconian, IMO... but maybe for the more extreme cases.

Some can hide it better than others. I think littering goes beyond being inconsiderate, they are pigs too. A person who lays in filth and one who spreads it may appear different initially but are really the same in the end.

 

Im glad to read others clean up their neighborhoods as well.

I had a situation where there was a gatorade bottle laying in the curb for 2-3 days down the street. This was about the 5th or 6th time trash was across from a certain house within a month and I was getting irritated so I left it to see if the homeowner would pick it up. The owners across the street did nothing and it was bugging me. On the 3rd day I saw them standing within 20 feet of the bottle. I stopped the car, picked it up, tossed it into their trash can, got back in and left. Said nothing to them. I now know it is their gardener eating lunch across the street from their house, where it is natural hillside, and leaving it.

About a week later, the guy waves me down, compliments me on how nice the landscaping is in front of our house and for keeping the neighborhood so clean. As I drive away, about 50 feet from where he is, there is a paper/receipt from a contractor. How do I know it was a receipt? It was still laying there 6 hours later. He had to have walked right by it twice.

 

Precisely correct. We either keep our self-image and respect or we let it lay in the gutter for all to see.

 

You know, I do the same thing when I notice something similar. Eventually I'm the one to pick up the trash.
