murcilago or f -430? coupe Im having a hard time choosing please help what are the goods \ bads with each? Thanks Jeff
Tough decision. If I could only have one, I'd pick the F-car. For the same price of a nearly new F-car, your M would be several years old. For straight roads the M would kick butt, but for corners and real driving experience I think the F would work better. And, I think the depreciation on the M car would be worse. Both amazing cars though. Either way, post some pics!!!
The hit in depreciation would be tremendous in the Merci, plus to much WOW factor for me. Not that a Ferrari has ever been stealth, just less flash, do I make nay sense at all??!!! LOL!! For sure I would have to go with the 430 or 599. If you want to have any track time with the cars the 430 for sure! By the way are you talking brand new, never owned or used vehicles?? Good luck and no matter what you will be getting a great car!! Robert
This one hits close to home. I have a Gallardo and was going to buy a Murcie. After an exhaustive search for Murcies and driving a bunch of them I just kind of cooled on the car. I ended up liking my G better. The stories around the Murcies got to be tiring. It seemed like every one I found was owned by a rapper or 1st round draft choice and not somebody that loved the car. I was looking at '05's and it was common to see an 05 with 4 owners and a some very expensive warranty repairs. A total PITA to drive in traffic and around town and they must weigh 4000lbs. So with all of of those things said, I still think they look and feel great and I'll own one sometime. I'm crazy about my G but the Murcie had some real knock offs in my opinion. Enter a F430. Many are available with some warranty and they've been by and large bullet proof. Cars coming available all the time by passionate members of FChat at what I think are reasonable prices. Maybe less wow factor and most people can't distinquish it between a 360 but it's a terrific car. Light, nimble and you can see out of it. Through a turn of events, I ended up buying a new 430. I should have it this week. I really like the Lambo's but I'm very comfortable I made the right call for me.
If money isn't an issue in any way, the LP 640 is a clear choice for me. Definitely one of the most beautiful cars out there. The F430 although a good looking car, is a somewhat plentiful exotic. The LP 640 will set you apart from the rest of the pack. GL with your purchase. Either way you'll probably be very satisfied. -Peter
The Murcielago is a tank; performance wise, on most roads the Murcielago will have a hard time keeping up with the 430. Having said that, the brakes on the 430 are ****e pretty ****e (I replaced my pads with oem again (doh), but apparently race pads are better), so go for ceramics, they make all the difference and give you a real confidence boost. The Murcielago is even older in design than its 2002 introduction date suggests. I personally didn't like the car at all (other than the doors) it isn't a great car to drive. The 430 is leagues ahead. The LP640 may well be a different proposition. I've never driven one, but have heard one and it sounds awesome. F430 sounds crap.
Tough choice ... I'm a diehard F car guy but the Murcie is pretty cool. It's the only Lambo I would ever consider buying.
This one is easy for me. I traded my 360 for a 300 mile Murcie manual tranny. I couldn't stand not owning one. As the days passed, I liked driving my Diablo more and filled my driving needs. Then couldn't stand it being Ferrari-less and sold the Murcie and purchased an 05 F-430 F-1 and loved it. Then the Diablo sat in the garage while I drove the F430.....and you guys know the rest of the story......an F-430 three pedal car, for my likes and dislikes, does it for me 110%.
