We tried out the special launch mode with the CST switched off on the car the other day. The manual says turn off CST, from a stop, stomp the pedal (X2BOARD ) and the car will basically do a tire roasting 'performance start'. This works well, learning to modulate throttle to avoid bouncing the rev limiter in 1st... but noticed that the car does not always respond with the performance start. Is this common or am I just not romping on the pedal fast enough ? Next question and more importantly... how many times you think this can be done before we need a new clutch/service ? Haven't used the launch control... which the dealer says will burn the clutch in about 5-7 uses... but this performance start doesn't seem to be very gentle either.
