Well, Look at this, wrong mirrors to start, wrong leather used to redo the seats, its really sad to see the power window switches are incorrect switches. But it is a dry sump, and a glass....but this would need a restore soon....good to see the cars climbing. Nice color combo for sure. Why does this car have the double exhause and not the single little one ? http://www.carclassic.com/stock.asp?Ref=DY26&Lang=en
Why is it lacking the single slot? Someone filled it in and put the wrong muffler on it rather than spend the money for the right one.
Wheels ??? your looking at wheels ?? thats the last thing to worry about. This car says 53,000kms...........it looks like 353,000kms. My cousin in Italy says thats the going rate for a 308 Vetro...40-50Euros.
I noticed that it says TRX on the tires.... The rims look smaller though don't they?? Maybe not oh well....
I like the silver gas tank, sender and wiring, lol, they got a little carried away on the "freshen up".
...good to see the cars climbing First off, Euro market. As applicable in the US as Euro real estate prices. Secondly, euro glass car...very unique market and IMHO not applicable to the rest of the 308 market. We're talking 700 or so glass cars versus 10,000 "other" 308s. Finally, sellers can ask whatever they want. That's not the market. The selling price is the market. Let's talk when this little beauty sells. I still see QVs on the market that take months and months to sell at the mid thirties.
Hello Blaine, your correct about the fiberglass market. The steel 308carb/2v or qv have no bearing on the price of a euro fiberlass dry sump gtb. Also you shouldn't compare a qv to the euro glass car, the qv is a shaddow of the early beast.
Also about that car in europe, someone has tried to restore or repair that thing! All they have done is destroy another early rare ferrari. It needs about 150k to bring it back.
quarter in 14.5 and 154 mph top end in 1976! It has taken 30 years for the rest to catch up. They still haven't figured out the chassis yet.
Realestate and the world is big....308s (glass) are not...whether its a Euro dry sump or a US wet sump, there are only 712 produced..it is what it is. There is a guy on here now making another US glass into a racer...nice cars are becoming as rare as the $3 bill. Is this car overpriced for 70K US...perhaps, but its the only one listed in Euro right now. How many other glass 308s have been under the knife for reconstructive surgery PS.. A dealer is not gonna ask a super inflated price to not sell a car, they need to sell cars to pay for the hydro..if it was a private sale i would say you are correct. But being at a dealer, i think it wouldbe safe to assume thats the market (ballpark)
actually a new corvette for the price of a 348 will eat an F40, thats too bad....and they're made of fibreglass too!
yeah but what happens when the vet starts to drop screws from under the dash? And it (the vet) may eat a usa spec f-40 but not the real deal in europe. A non cat euro f-40 besides being 25 year old tech will spank that plastic cavalier all over the track.
lets go one step further....a Suburu WRX and a bottle of Nitro for less than half the vette ....Now were talking. Its not how fast you go, its how you go fast
true but being spanked on the street is being spanked but its worse if you get spanked by a vette with some goof behind the wheel on his cell phone. I have a screwdriver, I can put the screws back, lol.
I hear and read about this zo6 rubbish all the time. Yes for the money it looks like a good deal but a big but, do you want hamburger or a steak? Lets take an example from the past or a lesson. In 78 for 18 k you bought a new vet silver anniversary or the pace car, with the window sticker and all. Or a 275 four cam for 18k for an old out of style car that nobody want except the true collector with vision. Thirty years have past and I know both these people and they still have the cars. The vet guy still has his 78 and keeps a paper bag for his head when he drives it around just like the unknown comic from the gong show. The 275 guy? no further comparison needed. We should learn from this parable, I have.
what if I bought the last 67 stinkray for 6K and then restored it in my garage, then sold it for $600K on the BJ auction? Thats a good investment and its a vette. You didnt learn, you just bought a base model firechicken with a fancy 10 foot long hood.
