I know this has been asked before, but I thought i'd do it in a poll. Not only would I (and hopefully eveyone else) like to know what people think, but it may help decide on the next G car purchase...

I am listing just the base US name, not the proper Italian name, not listing shade variations of each color, not listing things like metallic, pearl, etc... Just the basics...

Balloon white. I actually hate white cars but on a G it just shows the lines so well and balloon white looks a lot better than flat white.

So at this point it's looking like it's: Green, Orange, White & Yellow in the lead, and I posted the same question on two other boards... You would think that you'd get pretty much the same answers there too but it's slightly different on each one...

One of the other ones had White in the lead, Orange is tied for 2nd with Grey, and Grey got no votes on Fchat, then Green, Red & Black are all tied for 3rd and yellow behind that.

And the other also has White in the lead, with Green and Orange tied for 2nd and Blue and black are tied for 3rd...

Up to this point Silver has no votes at all and my beloved Blue that everyone seemed to love in the pictures I posted with my new wheels, is not coming in very strong, but I think it's kind of a darkhorse, or should I say darkbull in this case.....

    Keep the votes coming!

As much as I am addicted to Monterey Blue, if I where to get a Gallardo I would go with Vedre Ithica myself. There's just something about how it goes on that car. My 2nd choices would be Dark Grey and then Monterey Blue.

My car is Blu Caelum but in that picture, which is in the bright sun, it looks Monterey Blue-ish, which is a rareity on a G... One of the reasons for this poll, besides having a good post with what color everyone likes, is to help me decide what the color of my next G will be, and it was going to be a custom order of Monterey Blue, but, I was always a fan of Verde Ithica and it looks like that's what it may be if I have that choice at the time, but we will see.

Your Gallardo does have an awesome look to it...especially with the new wheels. I have seen a Monterey Blue G, though it was a Spyder, and it looked nice...But for some reason the Verde Ithica just suits it so well. But if you go for the Verde Ithica more power to you! I would love to see a Superleggera in that color! My dream Gallardo would be a Verde Ithica Superleggera with Callisto wheels...I'd call it "The Green Goblin." But the G is a great looking car so whatever color you pick I'm sure you'll be happy with it. Plus the Verde Ithica might be cheaper than the Monterey Blue, since for the blue it's about $3,000 per gallon.

Do Monterey Blue. If you need any more motivation for Monterey Blue then check this out: http://www.catsexotics.com/used_vehicle_details.htm?vehicleId=b0d9ca80404638740035b5e85793270d IMO it is the most amazing Lambo color, especially with black wheels like that.

You'll find that color choices vary widely depending on age as well as location.

"Loud" colors such as orange, yellow and green are distinctly preferred by younger folks (18-25yrs being the sweetspot). Of course, many young folk can't afford these cars so you'll find their preferences aren't suitably reflected in the number of cars you see in their preferred colors on the road. Ppl that prefer "loud" colors also tend to like blacked-out rims and are generally more likely to do cosmetic and engine mods. Amongst the older set (45yr+), earth tone metallics are quite popular (gray, silver, titanium).... Mercedes/Porsche have figured this out (since this age-segment is their cash-cow) and they color their cars accordingly. Red, Black and white seem to have an appeal across all ages.

Locationwise - you'll find europeans generally prefer more conservative colors and N. Americans are more extroverted.

And of course, with Lamborghini, you're dealing with owners who (certainly vs Ferrari owners) tend to be more entrepreneurial and extroverted.... hence the company's decision to provide more extreme/radical colors.

MILLION DOLLAR QUESTIONS: Why does yellow look so fine on a Gallardo but so ho hum on an F430? I can't figure this one out. And are we conditioned to like yellow because Lambo tell us its their signature color? It may not be so much a general preference as it is the Company's desire to differentiate its product versus Ferrari.

I like pearl tones eg. yellow, orange, green & white in no particular order as they all look good to me. Maybe even the metallic purple if someone orders one!

The off-chart colours are very expensive over here costing as much as US$20K under extra option.

White used to be a "suicide" colour but the recent economy boom has some owners buying them & suddenly they become nice! But I would say anything but red for obvious reason.

That's very true observation. Also the "loud" colors go with the blacked out rims and tinted lights as usually the car has a "theme" to it. Lambo is a loud statement anyways so it can get away with the oranges the greens and the yellows. The Gallardo looks better in yellow than the F430 because the angles on the Gallardo are more aggressive and attention grabbing. The F430 has more graceful and subtle shape, so softer colors (black, dark grey, and even red) look better on it.

Ferrari guy here, but I've seen many Gallardos and voted blue (not sure which shade I saw). The soft color works with all the car's sharp creases.
