I'll never forget when Walter Rohrl said (after a drive in CGT on Nurburgring): "first production car in my life that I could not go all the way and had to lift...."

Much prefer the CGT, ridden in both, the CGT is much more of a rush, better looking, better overall performance, just an amazing machine. Watch out for the Carbon Fiber on the door panels, dash, spoiler, engine bay, etc. Many CGTs CF are turning yellow and Porsche is not staying loyal to their warranties. There just pointing fingers at the CF manufacturer. A huge lawsuit and complaint is being issued against Porsche from a good friend of mine. So, maybe the 430 is a better choice? Good luck!

Normally I prefer Ferraris but F430 and CGt are in different group and I would choose CGt because it is a supercar.

If you mentioned Enzo, I wouldn't chose CGT for sure.

ENZO is much more better in every aspect such as performance, looks & build quality

has he driven an Enzo around the 'ring? It'd be interesting to see the result of the Enzo compared to the CGT on the Nurburgring. Stock vs. stock of course.. . :D

Again, porsche fanboys, like the ones on 6speed, always try to downplay the Enzo in comparison to the CGT. The Enzo outclasses the CGT in every category. One couldn't care less whether it did 0.5 seconds faster around some track an owner is unlikely to ever drive on. The Enzo is a paradigm of a supercar. The CGT needs explanation that it's a supercar. That's the real story.

you must be crazy to take a F430 over a Carrera GT

I would get a Yellow CGT.

I'm not sure what planet you live on, but you are obviously related by type to the so called Porsche fanboys, as you are a Ferrari fanboy, based on your statements regarding the Enzo and its alleged superiority over the CGT.
Do you own either an Enzo or CGT or perhaps both, that you are so qualified to make this statement, or are we being treated to your uneducated personal perceptions?

Everyone I know who owns a CGT, and there are several people in this class, are also Ferrari enthusiasts as well. None of them need to explain why the CGT is a supercar. It simply is. And at the end of the day, as I have stated in many other threads of this nature, unless you own and use any of the cars you are opining on, your opinion is essentially worthless. The OP has asked for opinions to guide him one way or the other, and unless you can offer real world, first hand information derived from owning or working on these cars, what you say means nothing at all.

BTW you believe the ENZO is the paradigm of a supercar. I believe it is a cartoon car. Does that mean anything to anyone who has one? I doubt it very much.

Sorry but IMO that's a laughable post.

The Carrera GT is the epitome of a supercar (the likes of which no manufacturer will ever be able to build again).
The Enzo is the epitome of the flagship Ferrari.

Sadly, the Ferrari, although fabulous, loses out as a driving proposition as a result.

i prefer the 430 spider even the coupe or 360,s and maranellos over that porsche
    i prefer gt1 gt2 gt3 gt3 rs over the cgt.
    i prefer 911 and 911 turbos tuned by techart,gemballa,sportek,koenig,ruf
of course i also prefer all the other super cars over that porsche.

the performance is amazing but in some angles its not very nice,im sorry i never like it and im porsche fan my family had porsches before.
i would take a mercedes mc laren slr for a similar price it,s far away in look and style
many people say that is ugly.
also lambos are better deal for me with that price like i sayd i can get a slr but a murcielago roadster and some money will be also a great one.

Here's a very nice vid that summarizes the essence of the CGT....you will see numerous instances of drivers intentionally performance driving the car (see 4.21 in)...seems quite chuckable to me !

Its been about a week and all I can say is holy crap man.
The CGT is an amazing peice of machinery. I own a 720 Horsepower car and the CGT feels just as powerful but with exceptional handling and grip. The acceleration and road feel is incredible. I am compelled to take it for a drive every day even if for 1 mile. If the damn seats reclined I would sleep in it. I just wish I had more roads to drive the car although that would probably not be a good thing since from 35 the car hits 100 in a few seconds.

My wife told me It bursts ahead like the rock and roll rollercoaster ride in Disney. I would not even want a faster car unless it was for the track only.

Im not sure about the beautifull 430 which I know has improved but I loved my 360 and it is not close in performance to the GT.

I'll run you if you want. I know the CGT would cream me...but it would be fun nonetheless. i've never heard one at full throttle...side by side.

I live in Bergen County (near alpine/Closter) if you want to get together one of these days.

    This thread is ridiculous.
    I am starting a thread comparing a 288 to a Miata next.
The CGT is leaps and bounds above any 8 cylinder car thar Ferrari has or will ever build.
    Jas and Alex,
You have made some great points in this thread as anybody with some real time behind the wheel of a CGT would.
