Commissioned photoshoot with a private owner's car collection in the southeast US.
Canon 40D, 10-22mm ultra wide angle, 70-300mm telephoto, circular polarizer, manual Photoshop work (no filters).
    Four are HDR processed.
    Enjoy.

    Fabulous shots. Kudos to you!!
The composition of the first one is great. The way the last arch frames the car. Genius!

Also... the headlight covers on these newer models must have some sort of polarizing effect built in for some reason as they cause the rainbows to appear. First noticed that on the 550 - one of Ferrari's first sealed unit headlamp.
Two "overlapping" polarizing lenses cause that phenomenon.

    Very well done!!

    thx for posting..

Yeah, I noticed that while shooting. It seems if you twist the polarizer 180 degrees, the headlights are clear, but the reflections in the paint come back. So it's a trade off. Easy fix with two exposures on a tripod, but for most of these I was shooting without a tripod. And for an HDR image, that would be six photos to work with instead of three like I was.
Nevertheless, I'm glad you like them :)

Sure. Just some simple desaturation on a duplicated layer of the original. Mix and match with some blending modes. There's a few techniques, but desaturation is key.

    great shots..

    a few questions:

    1. Was the bird in the picture just an accident?
    2. Did you have to take many pictures with the bird, or did get get scared after 1 shot?
    3. Did you get to drive the car to position it in different poses?

    Thanks.

    1. I was sitting very still for about thirty seconds, setting up the shot perfectly, when the little bird hopped into view. Juxtaposition was too perfect to pass up, so I pointed the lens over to the right and snapped a few shots, but this was the best.
    2. This was the only shot I got of it looking at the car. The other two frames has it walking to the left, underneath the car.
    3. I did not drive it, no. There was a driver there to handle the car. Though I rode shotgun, so can't argue with that.

Picture Number 3 with the white building and the water in the background is my favourite. The black bird is a nice touch to. Nobody commented on the titles all of the pictures have... The 'arrow' shot has a certain appeal to. Great results in the sun!

    Nice photography.

I wouldn't've guessed it was an HDR image though -- can you post a couple of the source images used to create one of the HDR images for comparison ?

Unfortunately I do not offer any of them in higher resolution. I may upload one to my wallpaper section on my website at a later date, but as of right now, it's a no go. I do, however, sell posters of every photo on my website- feel free to check those out if you're interested: notbland.com

Naming my photos is a job in itself. Was easy at first, but now nearly 500 photos in, it's harder to come up with creative, intriguing names!
    I'm glad you like them!

I may offer some of these (my other work from the gig is in the Florida sub-forum) as wallpapers on my site. But if I do, it's a way's down the road. For now, however, I offer them as posters which can be purchased through my website (listed in the signatures in the photos). :)

Any chance I could get a high res copy of the side profile looking through to the ocean? Would be a killer wallpaper.

Any place or way to get a high-res photo? It's strictly for personal use as a desktop, I'm fine with one with a watermark in the corner as well.
