We had an all time low of 6 kids come to our house. Is this a trend?? How did everyone else do?
I had zero this year! Sad. And all that good candy wasted!....well not totally wasted. MORE for me!!!!!!!
We had about 50-60. Down a little from last year about 80 or so. In Bowling Green they started at 4:00 but we didnt get home until 5:30 or so. The last ones drug in at about 7:30 7:45.. I think more familys and their kids go to Malls or churches that are probably safer. Funny note, we got one of those Automated Witches that go off when people walk by, It scared the hell outta people.. 2 kids cryed but then liked it after seeing it was fake.. Adults jumped when it would go off.
By far the lowest ever.......... I'd say 25% of normal (at best). I'm almost thinking the lack of fall-back for the clocks impacted this one for the little dudes. (And we erect a haunted room in the front foyer that the kids love)
I spent $25 on candy, all the good stuff. I had 3 kids come get candy. THREE kids! I was amazed. Now I have 5 pounds of candy to bring to the office.
774....and no I'm not kidding nor am I making crap up. 698 last year. Halloween is such a big deal in my subdivision that cops and fireman setup posts at each intersection and direct traffic. We give out around $300 worth of candy annually and make it a big party with a "two large bag" cover charge at the door. By far, best holiday of the year for me. Stephen
2 years ago: 45 last year: about 20-25 this year: doorbell rang 3 times. That's it. Total of about 7 kids. Very sad. I do think the lack of time change affected it. Who's decision was that? Because it cost us all the extra hour during everyone's Saturday night Halloween parties last week, and it makes it not as fun and scary on Halloween night. They need to do it like before.
Here are some shots from the fun, around 6:30pm Halloween night... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow!!!!! That is awesome. The grass sure is dry. You need some rain or a lot of rain. Nashville got rain 4 days in a row 2 weeks ago and everything greened up.
Yeah all of North Georgia is under a COMPLETE watering ban...no lawns, no washing cars, nothing. It's putting a serious hurt on a lot of landscape businesses in the area. We got a couple of days of rain a week or so back but it didn't even dent our deficit. It's so bad that many docks at local lakes are sitting on dry land and most of the boat ramps are closed down.
No trick-or-treaters at all!! Fed-Ex'd the leftover candy up to my 8 year old nephew in New Haven, CT.
Not much kids this year unlike 6-7 years ago when the streets use to be packed with kids from 6-9 pm.
We live on a cul de sac (sp?) and never had a lot kids stopping by. Didn't have any this year, the only candy we gave out was to the 2 little kids across the street.
Way down up here - normally get maybe 30 kids coming by, this year maybe 5. I dont know what happened... when I was doing it decades ago, they used to warn about razors in apples and stuff, so I don't think it's the fear factor. It still gets dark at 5:45pm here so I don't think its that either. I dont know why it is exactly, but it was just way less than I ever remember before.
