i was just told ferrari quebec wont sell any mechanical parts to anyone..wether a garage or private...

they wont service any car from usa.....

they wont let u do warranty work on your car if it is a usa car unless the you pay a 5000$ initial fee for your car to be allowed in their dealership !

i guess they are getting the beating with cars being imported into canada and their asking prices being so high they are unable to sell cars.

anyone recently have a negative experience there ?

Well, then things are goona get even tougher for them then if they decide to do this, you can get parts almost anywhere...and if they are refusing to service US used cars....the secondary mechanic market will get even bigger....someone hasnt thought this through over there....it doesnt surprise me that they would think of doing somethig like this...i would bet the T.O dealer may do the same....more work for Tom, Rock and Alex then in Ontario...and whoever in Quebec the same for them.

You can buy a much lower mileage USA 2004 Spyder for more than $40,000 less. Choose from a dozen with unique colors or just stick with classic red on tan. It is pretty clear where future business will be going at a buck 7.

Yeah, I bet they change their ways when they sell ZERO cars and are left with a population of servicable cars that is only going to get smaller. If they make it hard for reasonable buyers to service their cars at the dealer, someone else will satisfy that market. How smart will they feel then?

Either they force Ferrari to adjust their prices by not ordering any new cars until they do so, or they start bringing US cars up themselves, or they become friendly to those who are bringing up US cars, or they're going to be getting creamed for as long as it makes no sense to buy cars locally.

It is mostly true. I passed by a couple of months ago looking at a 2003 Maser Coupe and they were asking 73400$ plus taxe lol, are u freaking nuts, the same car is 40k in the states, andthey wouldnt service an american car either, seems like Auto Bugatti will benefit much from this situation.

Does this mean that if you are an American resident and happen to be driving through Canada when your car requires emergency service under warranty, that this dealer will refuse to do it?

Im not a lawyer but it sounds like it has the makings of a great CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

Does the manufacturer specifically limit the geographical confines of the warranty?

If they refuse to do the warranty service, are they not breaching a contract?
If they refuse service, are they not discriminating because of ones nationality?
If the US warranty documentation is sent through the mail, via the internet or on a fax and is subsequently not honoured, would that not be considered wire fraud (in the USA)?

Perhaps someone in the "know" could answer these questions.

Who cares, bring your car to a local mechanic, there are about a dozen guys in Toronto that have worked for Ferrari and opened up their own shop. They are affordable and provide better customer service than the dealer.

This issue with the dealer has been happening for several years now, and it's not getting any better. We have the scanner for the new ferrari's. You cannot work on a 360 F1 without it. The scanner is needed to reset the F1 system. The sd3 can only be used inconjuction with ferrari north america( it is not a stand alone system).

took it for a spin, was amazing! butat 9%....id rather not even bother wasting my time or money...its a car i like, but i dont see myself making that kind of financial dedication for a car that i dont want to risk writing off.

ps. sorry for the continuous questioning on the same topic lol, i never get the chance to read through threads, just small tid bits here and there. ill report back to the thread ;)

Does it mean that only ferrari franchise dealers should be using the sd3 scanner because it can only be used inconjuction with ferrari north america,or can garages like yours even use it with the blessing of FNA and a fat cheque sent to them?

I can't count how many special tools, spanners, fixtures, wrenches etc. are needed to work on BMW's, Ducati's, Ferrari's and other European vehicles.......there is a list of these "dealer tools" available only to dealership shops...Or you can just contact your local machine shop (Like Me :)) to copy and manufacture a set for private use!!

Hello red355gtb, the sd3 is for the latest cars which are still under warrenty. I was told that for 6k us per year an indpendent in the US can join in. They have some type of anti monopoly law in which they have to offer the info. In Canada that may be a different story.

It is a dealership's choice on who they would like to serve. If a dealership feels the need not to serve you it's their choice. You can't sue them.
