Missed the ten year...was too busy working.

20 year coming up this weekend...thinking about going. Its a 2hour drive each way, and it will pretty much wipe out my weekend. It would be cool if I new that people I once "knew" would be there, but who knows...

Part of me figures I won't recognize most of the folks anyway. 20 years is plenty of time to forget faces/names. I am sure that there will be at least one guy there that remember everyone by name...and I won't remember his :).

Is there any point in going?

What was your 20 year reunion like?

Of course the biggest attraction is finding out what happened to all of the folks you disliked. And that one computer geek you pal'd around with.

I wonder what the soccer jock that was getting bl*w **** in the girls bathroom is doing now?

How about the guy who paid for his chevy with his marijuana sales?

    What about the valedictorain?

    Oooohhh, and those twins?

Wonder what the smartest kid in the school is doing? He had a photographic memory?

What about the kid who wore the plaid pants, yellow shirts, and thick glasses? I heard he became a doc and runs a small realestate business. Has a hot wife, gorgeous kids. Might even drive a ferrari....hmmm. Wonder if anyone remembers him? ;)

Memories like the vision in my mind.......... I wouldn't go I don't think. I have been out for almost 40 years now and haven't looked back.

    I would attend.

I missed my 10 year, but went to an informal 15 year get together. Enjoyed it very much.

My 20th was a few weeks back. Decided to skip it at the last minute & a bit miffed that I did -the few friends I keep in touch with said it was a pretty good time - and it was only half an hour or so out of my way.

Now 2 hours driving... I might still skip it :)

I went to my 20th a few years back - was worthwhile, an hour each way, and about 1/2 - 2/3 showed up at mine.

that guy who's now a doc and a RE biz owner might want to talk too much about his hobbies :D
Most of the babes will be domesticated housewives with too much weight
Most of the smart personable ones will still be - a lot from our class ended up as teachers, go figure.
The smartest kid with the photographic memory from my class is a Missionary in the DR.
The smart Football jock who serenaded all the babes is a VC and living in a great part of town.
don't think any of our dealers showed, although some passed away.
best looking lady owned an art gallery after divorcing her husband, she didn't bother showing.

And despite the high school fantasy I had, of showing up in an Fcar, I think we took the minivan instead: like, who really cares.

My first question was going to be, "Are you successful now?" but you answered that one. I say you drive the Ferrari and bring your hottie wife. ;)

Other questions were going to be if you were popular or at least had a bunch of friends that would also be attending and if you're single...ya know, to hook up 20 years later with the prom queen. :D

I think you'd probably have a lot of fun. It would be nice to share your story of success with others, it'll make you feel really good about yourself. :)

I planned a Christmas reunion dinner at a trendy restaurant downtown for my dance team from high school and I'm really looking forward to that, even though a lot of us are still relatively close. :)

Yeah why not?? This was a major portion of your life. Those years influenced your current life. You would not be where you are today if it were not for the choices you made or sometimes more importantly the ones you didn't make during those years...

BTW, if you go don't do the show-of thing by bringing the Ferrari just to impress some old flame or twist the knife in an old rival. IMO, that's so lame.... "the look at me now".... I'm, blah, blah, blah.

Show up, be polite, be modest, talk to those people you didn't talk to before (often times they turned out pretty cool), and just enjoy a little "reconnection" with the past.

    Or... don't go =)

I certainly can't top Hubbster but having been to my 35th last year (after much pissing and moaning about not wanting to) It was great. It was an intimate setting at a country club. About 100 classmates (out of 700) attended with spouses or S.O. and it was fun to catch up with some of them. I'm looking forward to 40.

    Pertinent answers.

#40 coming up for me next year. Never been to one; couldn't give a rat's ass.

The one highschool friend I still keep in touch with wanted me, him, and his stunning fourth wife to all go together in my Ferrari, but I've since wrecked it. Doesn't matter, I wasn't going to go.

I graduated from Virginia City High School, 1992. 13 people in my class. Not kidding. I don't think it would be much of a party. :p

Not just with a reunion, but with anything:
    you always gotta ask yourself;
'will I regret going, or will I regret NOT going'.

It's that way with parties, weddings, funerals, anything; my wife doesn't want to go to most anything, and I gotta remind her 'what are the chances of you regretting NOT going ?'.
    She always goes.

I went to my 20th... I had to. I figure I would be the only guy there who could still wear his highschool jeans comfortably, and who still had all his hair. I was right. =-)

I went to my 10th a few years ago (actually, I helped planned it- if I was going to go I had to insure that it wasn't going to be some lame affair).

Being a complete dork way back then, it was great to show up with a younger hottie and have nearly every girl in my class drunkenly questioning how they never noticed me in HS. Some had multiple kids, most weren't up to anything special (unfortunately the most successful members of our class- from a little band called Linkin Park- didn't show) and it generally went as I had planned.

I couldn't stand HS and never let it dictate my station in life; it was pretty amazing to find some people stuck in such a time warp. All that being said, I'm definitely looking forward to the 20th now. :)

Hey now, I'm gonna be that guy with a lot less hair you jerk! :D

But I will be able to still wear my jeans, but be even healthier than I was then. And I was pretty healthy back then.

Have my 10 year coming up in 2010. I plan on going.

LOL! I could have done the same thing - pants still fit (or at least, fit again), still have all my hair...and none of it is gray yet :) 'Course I still get carded buying alcohol at the grocery store, so I guess there's a price to pay...
