Thanks for the link. Very interesting.

I am going for a more sophisticated industrial look. My designer is doing a fantastic job on lighting and the toilet is exactly what I want. I will have one long exposed brick wall which should look great behind the cars. My car turntable will be painted with the RAF logo.

The only decorations will be things that mean something to me such as the grill from my 2 599's that I used when I was going fast and it looks like it has been hit by schrapnel, gas tanks from Harleys that became redundant when I switched directions on the look, etc. My only nose cone is from my own Formula Renault when I downshifted a fraction too early, unsettled the back end and spun into a wall at a pretty good speed. I hit the wall so perfectly head on that I did not take off either of the endplates on my front wing. I crashed on T1 and had a long lap back to the pit entrance between T13 and T14. I remember enjoying the sensation of air on my feet! That nose cone is far more valuable to me than one from an F1 car.

I also have a lot of parts like the original wheels for my F40, exhausts from my F40 and my 288 GTO, tons of spares for my 348 GTC...

I still have not posted any pictures as it is really a lot of rubble. Soon it should be coming a bit together and I will post. All of the equipment is arriving.

I sold my second 599 today. I am close to selling my 997 GT3RS and my QP. It will be great to have only my "dearest friends" in this garage such as my 288 GTO, F40 and Daytona. There is definitely a spot for my 430S when she arrives next year. And a few motorcycles! But my 916 Senna Series 1 is staying in my office :):):)

No kitchen area needed. My house is 5 minutes away and there is a pretty good canteen in the next building. I don't want food in the garage as my driver will be based there and I don't want him creating an enticing area for bugs and rodents! I will have a small fridge for cold drinks and a water cooler - that is enough

Given my limited parking skills I have gone for the completely flat rectangle of steel - lorry size!!!

    Been there done that

But it will ALL be worth it in the end. Just remember ALL it takes is time and money (And when God made time she made plenty of it) Money just keep paying till its done.It will take Longer than the contractors said and cost more than the contractors said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!But what the hell its only money

A great man once said "The last cheque you issue before you die should bounce that means you have had it and spent it timeing is very important though" ROBERT MAXWELL

Thanks for the advice. My experience is rather deep in construction and project management. I would not be where I am today if I had the attitude "but what the hell its only money". I have no difficulty in managing to timelines and budgets. Minor irritations like a boulder where my car turntable needed to be inset does eat into my reserve but we are not in jeopardy yet and I cut back in other areas if necessary. I don't rely on contractors for project management. I have every intention of giving my kids an easier start in life than I had so I am desperately trying to avoid living my life in accordance with Robert Maxwell's philosophy. I will leave that to my grandchildren :):):)

You only realize how huge that place is when you see the two guys in the first picture... great! How many cars do you plan to store there?

6 or 7 cars and 5 motorcycles. I don't want it to become too full. It will hold 13 cars. I want to leave lots of room for my son to set up his trainset :):):)

The hole for the turntable is 24' in diameter. They were bending re-bar when I visited today. Looks to me like they will be pouring cement pretty soon. All the equipment is ordered and en route soon. The wall behind the guys is 165' long and will be raw brick. This will protect the waterproofing membrane. Should give it a warm feel. Also very good for fung shui as a strong earth element. Lots of red cars (represent fire) so they need some balance

LOL. I forgot some dimensions to your eclectic collection. It is the ground hugging flyweights that spring to mind but you have both ends of the spectrum covered :):):)
