You guys are forgetting something, More HP doesn't always mean faster, it just means it's stronger but definitely not faster.

A 328 owner on here knows well that there are people here with bigger and better garages. No disrespect to him AT ALL, but I think you misunderstood him.

That's bad, but I know of a person who got a DUI on his bike. I'm not endorsing his actions but I felt bad for the guy. Guy was at a party in college, had a couple too many, and decided to ride his bike home instead of driving his car (bike was on a rack on the car). From my understanding, the guy wasn't weaving down the road or anything, cops just thought they should talk to him since he was on a bike at 3-4 am and smelled booze on his breath.

PS: flat out speed does not always = fun...the feel of the car usually wins out.

 

I had a close call today - reminded me of this thread. Driving south on a four-lane, divided road (2 lanes each direction), transitioning from a 35mph to 45mph zone east of San Diego, there was a speed trap on the opposite side. I had just turned right onto the road and slipped the car into 2nd, was about to go for 3rd and mash the accelerator when I saw the SDPD Crown Vic. In true 328 fashion, I was making more noise than Schumacher and was barely 5mph over the limit. No problem.

A 355 would've got me a ticket today.

 

I've only had the pleasure of putting about 300 miles thus far on my 328 and haven't had it in the triple digits and don't really care to unless on the track. I liken the acceleration, tone and feel to that of my 748 Ducati. There are a lot of faster cars and bikes out there, but none can compare to the purr and the entire RPM range torque of the 90 degree belt driven motors. My friends blow past me on their 1000cc rice rockets and I purr along until the twisty sections, where I leave them following my rubber stripes from exiting the turns with the throttle open. I think my BMW 745 could out run the 328, but that's not even the same race. It's sort of like making love, running hard and fast in a straight line gets you to the finish, but I'd rather take my time and warm up the tires, hugs the turns and play with the throttle for a while
