A lot of the pricing similarities are due to the fact that all of the "players" know what to others are doing - just like with pricing in any other industry. One company sets a price - the others find their comfortable price, often at least partially in response to the others. Regarding price differences, why would you buy that premium ice cream when you can get the store brand for half the price? There really are differences, and I can address them on a specific case-by case basis as necessary, as we make ALL of our parts in-house, with full control and knowledge of the craft.
Let's keep the trademark violations and concerns to another thread----Let's discuss the carbon fiber differences and costs here...Maybe we can all learn the differences in what our sponsers provide. and products available to us..
Well, the whole box of tricks is actually 2 boxes of tricks - an upper half which holds the knobs and 2 push buttons, and a lower half which screws onto the top half with 4 screws. The lower half houses the electronics. We make the upper half - the customer transfers his knobs, buttons, and the lower half with the circuit board over. The lower half attaches with the 4 stock screws.
"curious" Respectfully, I don't think it is polite to have a sponsor to justify their price. I think we can all see the various vendors, their prices and hopefully know what we get for our money and make an appropriate choice. I am sure some people will take the cheaper option and others will go the other way. I am glad we have a choice unlike say for instance in Mattel Ferraris .
I am not asking the vendors to justify their prices, If I am going to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on a product I want to know what I am getting for my money and don't care if it is polite or not. Polite doesn't pay for the new CF center console. Alot guys don't know what they are getting for their money, hence the weekly threads on this subject. I am simply giving each vendor a chance to state why they believe there product is better. I have learned quite a bit about CF parts since this thread started. The difference in a liquid sticker versus overlay pieces versus full on CF replacement parts. I think both vendors who have been here discussing their products have done a wonderful job at explaining why there product is better suited for a consumers needs. No other thread on CF related questions has answered the complexity of the process, parts, manufactering, and differences... The next time a thread is started about CF parts we can refer them to this thread and not have to wonder and answer all these important questions again.. It's great for consumers to know what they are buying and make a desicion based on that and not what someone's friend's aunt told them...Just my opinion....
285 you should know better than to ask questions..... just slide your money under the door and keep quite..... remember..... "you get what you pay for"...........
Good stuff on CF, however a friend of mine came up with a more appropriate statement. "You pay for what you get!"
True statement, if it really does fit the bill. I mean you can either buy a fully serviced 2000 red/cream 360 spider for say $130,000. Or get the very same spec 2000 red/cream fully serviced 360 spider for $118,000 from down the road. I would not say that my 360 spider is better than your exact model because i paid more for it, although it seems some would.
I knew I had seen them. I was wondering where I could get some pricing. I think the overlays look much better if the entire console is CF
you're friend got that right! Remember people, this is 2007! I heared Webster is going to change the definition of ''corporation'' to :::an organization motivatied only by greed, where maximum and often unjustifiable excessive profit is the only priority, with absolutely no regard for equal and appropriate quality, value or customer satisfaction::: Let the record show that the previous statement was in no way directed at any anyone specific. As a business owner myself, I will NEVER subscribe to this theory... hence, i'll never be rich (or anything even close to it), but i'll also never be labeled as a ''greedy scumbag''! ;-)
Our turnaround time is all over the board right now - some parts we actually have in stock, but I'll be up front about the fact that an integrated center console currently takes the longest amount of time. There is a long backlog of orders - a new order on this part would take several months, maybe longer, to fill.
Here is the one we have made. For more information, http://www.ferraricarbon.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=30 POWERSPEED Image Unavailable, Please Login
Glancing at both console pic--the Powerspeed looks to be all CF, the Valence looks to be CF just on the top front--maybe it is just the way the pic looks...
+1 ............... I believe its usually understood that different fabricators have different processes, overhead and tariffs which can vary the prices....... thats why its called a 'free market' ay??? I do like the one with the carbon floor built-into the console, though I don't think it will work with a spider.....
I can't do it....once you go with one carbon piece, one becomes an instant 'carbon junkie'............. after that its carbon door sills, carbon engine pieces.... then after the car is carboned out.. then here comes the carbon briefcase, carbon business card holder, carbon cuff links, carbon bath robe.... then the house gets it with carbon shower doors, carbon towel holders, carbon coffee table, carbon mailbox, carbon appliances......... you get the picture....
