I thought so, but when i found the pic it was advertesed as a 308 replica.

It wouldn't suprize me at all if it was pulled from a MERA. you know pontiac oughta start something like again with the Kapa platform with the solistisc and Sky.

oh - what a stroke of genuis!!!!!! You should call Pontiac and suggest that they get involved in copying someone elses design on one of their new platforms. Perhaps you could head up the development team.

You could call it the Crappy-Kappa.... or the Kappa-Krappa

    Or the Pontiac Pantera.

I haven't been to anywhere near as many exotic car events as some other folk, but last week after spending a week with 60 odd Ferraris hanging around everywhere, I can't even imagine what must go through someone's head to entertain the idea of of making a bodykit to look like one! A few weeks ago when Aircon said something about any owner bringing a bodykit/replica would be ridiculed - I can see why.

It's hard to explain but when you see so many of them around and you contemplate what you'd think if a replica turned up... it actually DOES seem like a ridiculous idea!

Maybe I wasn't insisting on GM replicating the F430 on a Sky chassis and the calling it a MERA but something like this which wasn't replicating anything

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ENTERRA-VP-6-TR-1-OF-3-Pontiac-dealer-concept-car_W0QQitemZ140177091458QQihZ004QQcategoryZ7251QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Perhaps I should be the guy in charge of the design team, I could put something more inovative on the road with a GM badge in years than its competators have right now. I could see more people flocking to GM's showroom to see what its all about especially with the way their going they could use all the help they can get.

The Solstice is very pretty, and catches my eye, no need to redesign it as something else.

I agree but you know someone in the future is going to building something on that platform sooner or later its just one of those cars.

These cars would have been great if there was a hardtop for them.

Do you mean those things based on a Beetle chassis? This looks more like the real thing. I Googled Cessna and it only came up with the airplane manufacturer. :?

Sorry, was just kidding: Clarkson testdrove a Miura and stated that you can't really take it beyond 80 mph as the front starts to lift. He ended the test drive with a trick photography of him in his Miura flying into the clouds.

I see :) Actually I once had a ride in a Miura and it was on an airport runway but we didn't take off. It was amazing though. But back to more important things - crappy replicas ;)

What's wrong with the Audi powerplant they are very light weight, very compact and excellent power to weight? Have you had problems with one of these?

So its not really the wrong choice of powerplant, it was just another stupid comment based on zero experience.

Maybe id rather get it as close to the orginal as much as possible by using a BMW V-12 engine rather than half assing with alittle V6 or V8 engine.

You say stupid comment but remember who asked the question....
