Some of you are forgetting the Kimi qualifying blunders ... if, yep if , those had not happened Massa would have been clearly number 2.

If you read up about the braking and turning in change the Bridgestone tyre difference made to drivers that had to convert you would appreciate more how had the transition was. We are talking about 1/100th's of a second per corner, real instinct stuff here ... that takes time to reprogram the subconcious (spelling?, it's been a hard day).

Anyway, next year maybe interesting if the FIA let it ...

Kimi won from Ferrari’s point of view because of Luca, he could not have the MS's understudy win the title, he chose to remove MS and pay Kimi a ridiculous amount of money to move forward. Massa wiped the floor with Kimi very early in the season, and then Luca decided that politics’ should rule.

Massa had a few very odd events to remove him from the chase and Kimi became the team leader luckily he won the title, because of Ron's team mistakes.

This is not about the opposition who also had a very strange season.

Kimi is probably the fastest driver out there just now, but there are too many other things that happen to make you great. For me Kimi or Lewis the title stinks.

So many of you hate Bernie, Max and Ron but without them you would probably have to talk to your wife, so maybe they are doing you a favor, oh, and by the way the more post you have achieved only enhances my theory.

I know I am not popular on the board but I have a very good take on things which means I do not worry how I will be in 30 years from now, so I keep my own council thank you.

Just read an article about this particular issue and it confirms what I heard from a very good source as well. Alonso had the same issue btw.

Felipe Massa fears F1's new ban on traction control could lead to more accidents next season.


As of the start of the 2008 Championship drivers aids, including traction control, will be banned from Formula One.


The teams undertook their first test session without the aids at Barcelona this week, which saw Ferrari dominate the timesheets with Michael Schumacher quickest on the opening two days and Massa leading the way on Day Three.


But despite showing that he has the pace even without traction control, the Brazilian still fears that the safety of the drivers has been compromised by the ban.


"The fact is I didn't have any experience without traction control and I was rubbish," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.


"First the accelerator is like a button. You have to be as soft as possible.


"But from a safety point of view, these limitations on the use of electronics seem a step backwards.


"In wet races we will have a lot more accidents."

 

Massa should quit his whining and listen to the team's test driver. I don't want to hear any driver in F1 complaining that it is too hard without traction control. Jimmy Clark didn't need traction control.

As the great Ayrton Senna once said: "My right foot is my traction control"

It's called the World Driver's Championship, not the World Steerer's Championship.

 

If all they want to do is stab & steer, they can go back to Karting for all I care.

 

Its part of the game, to actually drive and face the danger. They do this I understand, but to whine about an increasing level of danger is useless. Sooner or later someone will be killed again. Its just a matter of time and I dont feel losing this 1 aid is that much of a problem. If they dont like it they can leave. We accept more danger in our daily lives than they face on the track.
Street driving in most countrys is not that safe. I really dont want to hear it from them actually. The structure of the cars, the tracks etc is sound overall. Nothing is ever perfectly safe. F1 is safe enough in my opinion that they should accept this without too much safety talk. They control their feet dont they????????????

I really love Massa's quotes, they never EVER make any sense. What kind of analogy is that? Since when do you have to press buttons as soft as possible. It doesn't make any sense at all!!

Massa 'rubbish' without traction control
Nov.16 (GMM) Felipe Massa has admitted to struggling to adapt to life without traction control in formula one.
The Brazilian, who made his grand prix debut in 2002 after the previous ban on electronic driver aids was lifted the season prior, topped the times on Thursday at Circuit de Catalunya as he tested his Ferrari without the sophisticated systems.

Getting his first taste of the revised Ferrari alongside his retired 2006 teammate Michael Schumacher the day before, however, Massa - who won three races in 2007 - was nearly half a second slower than the German, who last contested a grand prix more than twelve months ago.

"The fact is I didn't have any experience without traction control and I was rubbish," La Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday quotes the 26-year-old Massa as admitting.

"The accelerator is like a button. You have to be as soft as possible," he explained.

Massa is not a supporter of the traction control ban because he also thinks that, in terms of safety, the electronic limitations are a "step backwards" for the sport.

"In wet races we will have a lot more accidents," he predicts.
