Seeing a nice car on the highway is one thing....following/stalking the car on the highway and ambushing the driver for pictures and chit-chat is something else....hopefully the younger folks on the board know that, and aren't so stupid. Well-off people get very nervous when they're being followed by strangers, and some people are known to carry firearms....

Im sure a guy driving a Veyron is not going to be surprised by people staring and taking pics of the car...not to mention he knew it was Ralph Lauren.

Agreed - however he didn't just stare and take pics. He followed him for miles and mile, through turns, highways, sidestreets, etc. He followed him right into a parking lot and jumped out while Ralph stayed in the car and looked quite nervous about the guy's freaky behavior.

Borders on stalking, but nonetheless very cool. I'm sure many of us would do the same with a Veyron and a celebrity. Very surprised Ralphie actually talked to the guy, I'd thought he'd use all 1000+ hp and be at 100mph in 6 seconds.

The two-tone stuff looks great, but you can't beat straight black.

Yes, however Ralph Lauren didn't know WHO, exactly, was following HIM, now did he? You're not naive enough to believe that Car-Jacking in the U.S. is just a figment of someone's imagination, now are you? That people don't get killed over a $1.5 million dollar car? I have a few friends who always keep a loaded 9mm in the car within easy reach for just such surprises. Think about it.

He would enjoy his cars more with tinted windows (for privacy) & a firearm by his side.

BTW - Anyone else amazed this guy can put a "RL Polo" label on a $4 garment & charge $99 for it???

Well, go to the outlets and you can have it for $45 or 2 for $80. ;) Not so much amazed, but rather impressed that he has been able to pull it off for going on thirty years now. I can go to his shop and buy the same shirt my dad did in 1978 for the same price, and look like I just left Mummy and Sissy at the same country club that he did 30 years ago.

    Hehehe. +1

But fair warning - do not go to the Polo outlet in Orlando around new year's time. It's like a smelly hampster cage! Shoppers with cheeks full of Polos, crawling over each other to get to the corners of the cage.

Oh Ralph... some people are just lucky or blessed I guess! It is not a business model that I could recreate. I tried couture & failed... even my friends asked why I wanted $40 for a T shirt.

I really like the all black Veyron, as I'm not a fan of the two-toned ones. Good choice.

Neat experience, although I think it's a bit much. I'm sure celebs are used to being followed somewhat, but this seems a little overboard, perhaps just b/c of excitement and rarity. It's not like the guy that took the pics lives in L.A.

How so? It's a public road.

About spending $99 on a $5 shirt, or about driving a 2 million dollar car in public? LOL

His shirts aren't expensive when you get them on sale or at Ross (or a similar store). I worked there when I was in high school and I remember RL and TH shirts being $20. :)

Harassing people on public property is still against the law.
