I didn't know which forum was appropriate. Something cool that Xerox is doing If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services. How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! This is a great site. Please send a card. It is FREE and it only takes a second. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them
The pioneers of a warless world are the young men (and women) who refuse military service. Albert Einstein.
Yes Einstein was very much against war here is another one of his: "We scientists, whose tragic destiny it has been to help make the methods of annihilation ever more gruesome and more effective, must consider it our solemn and transcendent duty to do all in our power in preventing these weapons from being used.... What task could possibly be more important to us?" Or how about this one: Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable. John F. Kennedy
It's a shame we non-Americans cannot participate in this - I know a number of people (incl. myself) who would be more than happy to support this.
So, what then turned out to be the theory of Gravity? In the meantime, why don't we go ahead and send a card?
Ok, but then I really don't get your point. I thought you were trying to say men and women should refuse go to war. Fact is someone has to go, so we should be thankful, no matter how stupid the war or our superiors are. Personaly I feel we invaded some poor little country that didn't do anything to us. And that makes me feel really bad that soldiers on both sides are dying.
My point was... Did Einstein really insert "(and women)" into that quote? Sounds pretty PC for back then.
