Is there any one running their 308 with the A/C system removed? Has any one come up with a better solution for the A/C bracket removal, like a modified bracket? I'm really not a big A/C fan I hardly use it in any of my cars, I like to run around with the windows down. I'm doing a valve adjustment and a belt change and the thought ran across my mine to leave it off since I've read here that the A/C systems in these cars are not great. If I ever sell the car I'd put it back on. Michigan weather isn't that bad in the summer.

I removed my AC, but I don't recall having a huge issue with the bracket removal. What is the specific bracket you are talking about? A picture?

I had to remove the studs from A/C compressor to get the lower bracket out to remove the compressor. It would be nice to figure out a way to modify the lower bracket so you don't have to remove the studs. How is your car in the summer without A/C? Live-able?

When I replaced my compressor while doing a belt change I changed all of the studs to bolts (compressor , bracket and belt covers). Just got the right lengths and it worked out fine. No more double nutting and easy to get at. I kept my AC because for the little time I need it I use it.

If you're replacing studs with bolts, remember that Ferrari always helicoiled bolt holes in Al. Otherwise vibration, & corrosion can cause the Al threads to come out on the bolt when it's removed. At minimum, use anti-sieze on the bolt's threads, keep the torque as low as possible, & look for the AL threads becoming loose. When/If the Al threads start to loosen up, it's time to put in a timesert or helicoil.
