I thought you were going to have a landscaping company come out and remove that....there's nothing worse than a dickweed infestation in the garden; once the dickweed gets into the bush, watch OUT, nothing short of many dollars and hours of manual labor can fully divorce a dickweed from bush. Dickweed is by far the most deadly plant to other foliage in your environs, it's almost predatory desire to reproduce means that it will go after any bush it sees. Also, make sure you can distinguish between the many different types of dickweed extant. I suggest the book by Richard Weedy entitled, "Getting to Know Dickweed". Mr. Weedy highlights the differences between the different species...I didn't know that Thumb Dickweed and Pencil Dickweed are very similar but always annoying, and that Tiny Dickweed isn't dangerous to bush because it cannot penetrate deeply enough to cause harm. Oddly enough, the author suggests importing Gigantic African Dickweed because it always pleases the women when it's in the garden.

By far the most annoying is the Drunken Dickweed because it hurls epithets such as "Pig!" and "Donut Herder" as you walk out to your home car in the morning.

The truth hurts. Like I SAID, I do not give them any grief. But they insist on
    a. giving me grief or
    b. in the case of having property stolen, act completely unconcerned and unwilling to find the perp

By the way do you guys actually issue warnings anymore or just tickets?

Actually he does, because he gets money when people like me join the board.

Yes they do. In fact I received a warning form the Florida Hwy Patrol in one of I-10's construction zones in the last year. I think it was 70mph in a 50mph. But, then again I pulled right over, when asked why I was speeding in a construction zone . I told the truth that I had slowed down when the speed limit changed but I didn't set the cruise control and started fiddling with the radio and like an idiot had gotten it back up to 70mph. His next comment was to give him a minute while he wrote my warning. 5 minutes later I was back on the road.

Classic. I'll give you an example: Our house was burgled a few years ago. Wife called the police. They came out made a list, etc. One of the items stolen was unique. A month or two later, I saw it on ebay. Gave the cop the info. He asked: you got paid by your insurance company, right? Told him I had. They never did anything.

Nope, for the most part tax collectors, taking the easiest way out, and if pressed in court, most of them will lie to get the conviction. I have little respect for any of them.

Art , I have to tell you that is the complete opposite to what I have experienced I kknow a lot of cops who would have gotten a hard on to go retrieve that item.

Really. I'm amazed at that statement. You do understand that the right to access to the courts, if the government, without any probable cause, decides to inquire about your book reading habits, decides to monitor your email posts, your calls, and perhaps, decides to declare you an enemy combatant, and jail you, has been restricted or eliminated.

You call that no restriction on your rights!!! I'm sorry, I guess I went to a different consitutional law class. There is currently a substantial debate in congress of a good portion of the provision in that act, and for good reason. If you'd like a detailed listing of the various rights that we've lost since 9/11, go to ACUL.ORG, they've got a pretty long list, with examples of same.

Too bad one of them wasn't assigned to our case, since the item disappeared.

I'm sorry to hear that you couldn't retrieve your item. I have quite a few family pieces that are unique and know how you feel. Too bad you didn't have a connection to apply some pressure.

Good theory too. My brother-in-law is a cop and he never gets tickets when we get pulled over and he is driving.

On the stolen property note...to give you an idea about where I live in NY. the town is so small we had a tenant's Playstation 2 stolen from his apartment. There was a full investigation where fingerprints were taken and casting made of footprints in the mud. It even made the newspaper albeit not the front page but still in the paper. No wonder they write so many tickets they have nothing else to do.

Oh, I have tons more. When I was a kid we had our house broken into, ransacked the entire house, and stole some antique guns and other family memorabilia.
The guys were eventually nabbed not by the police but by my mother who spotted some suspicious kids about a mile from our house about a week later, one of whom was wearing my fathers Stetson.

Great job by the cop. It seemed like the driver wanted a confrontation and he got his wishes. For all the cop knew this guy could have pulled a gun and shot him. Like I said the best responses to a cop are "yes officer and Thank you ". This should be used as a training aid so people at driver training schools learn how not to react when pulled over. Then again there is always the staying within the law and avoid being pulled over but it appears that this is not reasonable.

want people with your type of attitude here----Go ahead I dare you.. I double dare you...Take a look at this thread from the start, your views are obviously in the minority about police. Even the original poster said he was just messing around and didn't mean it. I'd be happy to pay your subscription fee for you to go away----I am not the only one either...I have received about 10 PM's about your negative posts. We don't need you here--NEWBIE!!!

Act unconcerned? With your attitude towards police---what do you expect?

Do you expect a warning? I am sure the officer will give you a warning with your poor attitude towards them.

Then become a police officer and change things---No, you'd rather sit in the corner and cry about what YOU think they should do. Stop crying and change things...Make a difference----People like you cannot--You are a follower, never to be a leader..

Well said! That's what most of these cry babies *****ing about the Police are. Followers who could not hack being cops. They think the world revolves around them, but don't realize that there are more important calls and things going on than their stolen unique items or antique guns. In the grand scheme of things, your items that were stolen don't mean anything compared to someone getting stabbed, or shot, or abused in a domestic case!
