Sorry about the location. I thought they were in Vegas. Anyone have a PPI for Reno?
yes, call doug at lyle tanner enterprises, they are also known as ferrari parts exchange, they are in sacramento, about 2 hours from reno, anyway I saw doug yesterday to get a part for my qv,he said he also does ppi, give him a call, the #916-454-3240,
are you looking at the gold 77? I thinks thats been repainted but done well and new carpet, its on e-bay,I think you could do well with this one,if doug can't go up pm me,may be I'll go look at it but I'm not a mechanic!
Or maybe the '83 QV? Intrepid Motors in Reno or maybe just outside. I spoke to someone there last year when interested in a car there. Seemed very knowledgeable. Also this place: http://www.sierraautosport.com/Pages/Ferrari/FerrariServiceandRepairRenoNevada.htm Also there was another place that sells exotics and also services them in Reno. Might be the place the '83 QV: http://www.sierraclassics.com/detail.aspx?iid=2313825 Good luck. Jeff
I bought my Ferrari from Dave Brennan at Sierra Classic Motors and know Bill over at Intrepid as well. This is a small world. Bob Wassam
I am dealing with Dave...nice guy, keeping his word on the deal so far. Very helpful. Seems to know Ferraris...waht do you think?
We have a tentative deal on the 83 QV. I want to verify the motor is decent. I can deal with the major and brakes...just don't want to get into the bottom end...or the top for that matter any time soon
I didn't know about the qv,I would go for the qv because thats what I got and is a fun car to drive and more bullet proof than the 77,like I said ask doug to go look at it for you or I can see about putting it in my time too check it out for you , but I can do a visable and not from a mechanic's point of view,I geuss I could compare it to mine, its a 85
I've known Dave for several years. I met him through my Brother over at John's British Cars. Tell him I said "Hi." My name is pronounced "Wah-some," like "awesome," but with a "W," in front of it. I think he'll keep his word and treat you right. He enjoys the heck out of Ferraris. He's got a lot of hot rods in there, but the Ferraris are first rate. He travels all over the west looking for them and when he finds one he can buy right, he gets it and sells it pretty fairly too. Ask him for a mileage garrantee for the bottom end. He might be able to work something out for you on that. He's pretty sharp. Bob Wassam
So far he has been very professional. I just want a second opinion on the car. Any 308 at the price I am paying will have issues. I can deal with most, just don't need major engine work to come into play. Thanks for the insight.
Well that would help. If you know the feel of the car a test drive would be telling and flying out just isn't in the cards right now. Let me know if your up to it and I will send you a PM.
is this car what you want and ready to buy if everthing works out right? If so I'll make time to go up there for you if doug can't make it,but you should still do a ppi
Yes...and I am looking into the PPI...just no one around till Monday so it's no rush. If I get the PPI done I'm not sure it's nessesary for you to go out of your way.
And I truly appreciate it! Perhaps I can comp you a model You guys are awesome to deal with...this is making my first purchase even better. Is it me or are 308/328 owners a unique bunch as are the cars?
I wonder of it may be a sign that the heads were rebuilt at one time or just painted when it was serviced?
