Any one try or is using this product? Is it worth switching to? Pentosin antifreeze formulated especially for aluminum engines 1.58 liter container, blue in color http://www.pap-parts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=G%20001%20100
I thought the same, but it's worth asking. I'm in the middle of servicing mine, I drained the block today, previous owner had 100% anti freeze in the thing, it got pretty cold last winter. I don't have heat in garage yet but I think she'll be ok, especially now that I drained the 100% stuff. I was thinking of going to Evans coolant but I'm not sure yet if its worth it.
try this site you can down load the manual that you need for the car you have good luck http://ferrari.jenkins.org/books/ and its free
Good writeup on antifreeze on this thread. Doesn't answer your question on that specific antifreeze but maybe helpful. Jeff Oops, here's the link: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=153755&highlight=bmw+antifreeze
I don't think this link (http://ferrari.jenkins.org/books/) has your car's manual. There is another online free source, can't remember. Do a search and I'm sure it will come up if you need it. Jeff
That blue Pentosin antifreeze is formulated for BMW as well. If you buy BMW coolant from the stealership that's what you get. I believe they changed the formulation as the VW/Audi mix used to be red and could NOT under any circumstances be mixed with any other coolant or else it would form sludge. I use the red Pentosin in my MGB but only after I thoroughly flushed the entire system did I put it in there. The best antifreeze to use in the Ferrari is Zerex G-05 which is the same thing as the Mercedes-Benz house labeled stuff. It can be mixed with green in an emergency but is also neutral pH so it won't corrode aluminum. Another nifty feature is that if there is a leak in your cooling system it leaves a white 'tracer' at the source of the leak. Hope this helps! Cheers; Aaron '82 GTSi
