Would anyone here have good close-up pictures of windshield FRAME, cowl-top area and any related details on these cars they care to share ? Pic's of un-restored frames would be even better.
    Thank You.

Can anyone tell me the S/N of these SWB? I think the yellow one is 3163GT, and have no clue about the red.

I believe, because of the size and position of the turn signal indicator next to the headlights that these are later 1962 models...

    Your help is really appreciated!

Hello, this is my first post and first of all i want to apologize for the but use of english because i am greek. Ferrari 250 GT Spyder California SWB is my favourite car. Both California are unbelievably beautiful but i think that the SWB with the short wheelbase is the most beautiful car ever made. I have some questions for this car because i did not find many informations at the web. First of all, did all the SWB had this beautiful hard top? Secondly because of no specific information, i want to ask you about the permormance of the car. Did all the SWB have 280 hp, which was the weight of them and lastly which was the 0-60 accelaration and the top speed with the hard top closed? The top speed of LWB seems to be 150-156 mph but i wonder that SWB must be lighter and with the hard top it must have better aerodynamic. I want to thank you for your very good site and i ask all these questions because i want to know a lot of things about my favourite car which maybe is the most beautiful car ever.

Hello and a warm welcome to FChat! :)

You have come to the right place to ask questions about your favourite car, there are many individuals on here who can answer your questions and you can possibly meet an owner of a 250 California!!!:D

    The Engine (250 GT):
    60-degree, single-overhead-cam "vee" type 12 cylinder.
    Horsepower: (250 GT SWB) 240hp @ 7000rpm (racing 250 GT SWB) 280hp @ 7000rpm.
    Weight: 2822 lbs.
Top Speed: (250 GT LWB) 124-155mph (250 GT SWB) 140-156mph (Note: top speed depends on year made)
    Acceleration 0-60mph (250 GT LWB) 7.0-8.0 sec (250 GT SWB) 6.5-7.0 sec.
2500 Type 250 GTs where produced over the entire model run.

I am afraid I don't know whether the California SWB came in hard top, hopefully some else had the answer.

    I hope this helps.

None were phisically fixed head coupes but they were available from the factory with a removable hard top. I don't know exact figures off the top of my head but some were delivered with this option and they did look very attractive with the hard top.
See Geroge Carrick's work on these models for more information 'The California Spyder, a Ferrari of Particular Distinction'

Here's a picture i took (albeit, not a very good one), of an open headlight swb California at the recent RM Automobiles of London Auction (29 October, 2008)
Fitted with the factory hard top.

I would like to thank both of you for the answers and the warm welcome. The last photo is the SWB with open headlights. In my opinion is more beautiful with the close headlights, but is still a masterpiece. Why this has open headlights? :)

Those last two post must be Peter Kalikow's cars (PK 1 and 1 PK). I have to say, that guy has some good taste in Ferraris.

I do not know the serial number but here is a California Spider while owned by Rock & Roll artist J. Giels. The photo was taken in Groton, MA along with his TDF.
