speedo stopped working on my 348,anyone know where the sensor is located?
1) Remove the instrument pod and make sure that the connection on the back of the speedometer is clean, and plugged in correctly. 2) The speedometer sending unit is located on the bottom left side of the transmission (looking at the car from the back).
There are two phillips head screws on the lower edge of the instrument housing. Remove the screws, lift up the housing, unplug the wiring connectors, and it's off. Two minute job, if you take your time.
I put money on it, that it is the sender on the transaxle. Every Ferrari I have owned (3) has required replacement of this piece of junk made by Veglia! I have NEVER replaced a speedo sender on any other car I have owned, but Ferraris. Thankfully they are easy to swap and not terribly expensive (around $125 from Ricambi, depending on model). I have also replaced a Veglia oil temp sender (308, and had a Veglia clock repaired (308) and tach repaired (328). Veglia is living up to the "Italian made" stereotype...
Its the sensor Bending over the rear bumper its under car on left side of transmission I found the part chearper directly from Ferrari No special tools to install
