I agree the 'feel' of the lines is BS.

Good rubber lines will feel the same as the ss braided ones, IMO....

Fresh Pads will always effect pedal feel, in my experience.

Agreed, but on my 328, with 15+ year old rubber lines, I noticed an immediate difference with the new ss brake lines, the old rubber ones must have gotten soft and spongy. I switched to ss lines on a 3 year old BMW and noticed absolutely no difference in pedal feel. So right, new rubber versus new ss, no difference; old rubber versus new ss, improvement. So replacing old rubber lines with new rubber lines should give the same improvement. I just think the ss lines should maintain that feel for more years.

I also felt no difference replacing the 20yr old hoses on my 308 w s/s ones.

I had the new SS lines installed on my 328 last year. No specific improvement, just peace of mind... My rubber lines were very hard, bending them was very difficult. Now I know that everything is fine...
