Here we go... Kicking up dirt... Oh baby!!! I wish money were everything, including making us all better people... But once you have had it, it really isn't anything....
I am desperate for money.... I have a nice Lutheran charity I would give it to. My neighbor down the road might need it, you might have heard of him, he had a TV show called.... "Home Improvement"
So you know the head of a company and Tim Allen lives in your general vicinity. I guess we all should bow down to your wisdom.
Quote:"So you know the head of a company and Tim Allen lives in your general vicinity. I guess we all should bow down to your wisdom." I never said that, nor implied that... I was asked if I needed a refund... I said no.... BTW, I think Will Rogers had a saying for replies like yours...
Wow Tim Allen and the head os Ski Doo! Those are some pretty big names, I think we should all stop talking now. Those guys must have the inside scoop being that they are such well known people. I don't want any part of this bet now. LOL too funny. Damn I would drop their names too if I knew them! Oh hey 50 Cent lives about 50 miles from me. Ha Ha
I'm not impressed if he lives by Tim Allen. Now if it's the Tool Time girl he was referring to, then that's another story...
I shook my head in dismay the moment Schumi announced his retirement...I might have even posted such...Schumi retired exactly one year too early. He would have run away with the WDC this year. And to the sayers of nay, Alfredo didn't beat Schumi in 05. Schumi showed up, Ferrari didn't. 2006 early on was a mess, but he came back, and if it weren't for the chunks of engine bits in his sump at the penultimate race, I'd say he would have staged the greatest comeback of all time. Sure, he's had his moments...in 94 and 97 and that team orders bit with Rubens plus a few scattered incidents here and there, but those were rare and do not detract from some 240 other races and some 85 wins that he had the measure of the field...some because his car was that good, others because he was so much better, a lot of times the formula gelled and he ran away with it. The man was a rare spark of genius and pure ability that we don't get to see very often, and I'm glad that I was around to watch history being made. With all that being laid out, I'd say that I don't want to see him come back, barring (and heaven forbid) Kimi or Felipe getting injured next year. He's had a good run, and what a run it was. He's got nothing to prove to anyone, ever. The season in 2000 was easily the most memorable of any one that I'd ever seen, for obvious reasons. 2003 was good, and 2006 was epic, as was the let down when his engine gave away his chance at #8. 2007 was a lesson in let downs...first race Kimi won and the Tifosi went wild...and then for almost half a season Kimi didn't show up, then he came on cam. A race where Sato passed both a McLaren and a Ferrari driving a tricycle with a squeaky wheel...the Spygate Scandal and the Flexi Floor Bull****...and Lewis parking it in pitlane turned the tides and opened up the WDC and Kimi getting in there and grabbing the bull by the horns and not letting go until the final race and my neurons went epileptic THAT KIMI HAD WON IT KIMI HAD WON IT KIMI WDC KIMI WDC. 2000 was great, 2007 just a little bit less so.
I agree with you. There was never a driver like Schumacher and probably never will be. The guy calling you names gets away with it constantly on here so you will have to get used to it. I guess he rubs shoulders or something with the right mods in here.
Yes. I agree. And that's exactly one of the reasons Schumim retired when he did. If he had waited until he was a mid-pack also ran, no one would be saying things like he could have won. So his mystique remains in tact. Not many drivers are competitive after 38. (Fangio being the exception that proves the rule)
I said recently that I don't believe we'll be seeing m/any F1 champions in their thirties going forward anymore. Just yesterday I came across a BusinessF1 article from 2005, which states that basically 36 is the cut off date for any F1 driver today.
I think F1's 'self imposed' your too old to drive in F1 belief is totall BS, Shuey has shown that with his testing time's and there are plenty of driver's in other form's of motorsport's who are in their 30's and 40's who are still very competative and winning race's.
You said it yourself: Other forms of motorsports. Yes you can be successful in GT, ALMS, NASCAR and DTM in your late thirties. MS' testing times were impressive, but they were testing times.
Age is not relevant for all drivers, consistent physical conditioning and abstinence of Grey Goose is an important consideration. Schumacher is a prime example of such conditioning, preferring fine German beer only when celebrating a victory. I would guess Michael could race until he was in his 40's. Dale Earnhardt was in his mid 40's and still competitive, and you fool yourself if you don't think you have to have excellent reflexes when drafting at 195mph.
