DONT READ THE LATEST NEWS ON FINALGEAR

Although they don't clearly express it, they give a large hint about the outcome of Hamilton vs. Stig. I've unfortunately read it - if you want to keep the suspense, don't *sigh*

In the official health and safety report for Hammond's jet car crash it lists Ben Collins, widely rumoured to be the stig, as "Top Gear's high performance driver and consultant" ;)

That's an interesting little detail. There is that "5th guy" you can see driving the cars from time to time, noticed him especially in Clarkson's yearly DVD's. He's got blondish hair and chews gum behind the wheel alot. Wonder if that is the same guy? Stig unclothed...?

I saw it to and it was an amazing lap time, quiet unbelievable even the Stig was said to have asked how he did it. And in the wet!!!

Well i apologise if i am spoiling anything, but i dont believe i am. Lewis time was 1.44.7, Stigs time 1.44.4 and Mansels time 1.44.6 Both Stig and Mansel did it in the dry, Lewis did it in the wet.

Thanks. Sounds about right. As good as the Stig is (whoever that might be), I don't see him beating Hamilton under equal conditions.

    I'am 100% about that..

There was a feature on Alonso's winning Renault F1 car which was brillant. Hammond who is not a f1 fan, after some training took the car out round Silverstone..he was crap he couldnt even get the tyres and brakes up warmed to be honest it showed just how hard it really is trying to driving them all F1 drivers IMO are brillant anyways it maybe on youtube now.

BTW did you sort out how to download the series ?

Hammond is not a F1 fan? Oh my, maybe I'm not such a Hammond fan anymore. :(

Lauda (whom I greatly admire as a driver) once tried to show his drivers how it is done. And promptly spun the Jaguar twice and gave up. It is not a video game, despite all the driver aids.

    I just did. :)

I don't know just how, but maybe racing for the next 10-12 years will help get Lewis over the shame of this.

What? What shame? It was a WET and OILY track, what were you expecting? I think he did remarkably well.

He did it in 1:44.7 and the Stig did it in only a few tenths less how is this a shame when Lewis was on a wet and oily track.

The track was wet, but not as wet as when Webber ran it 1:47 something, but wet enough to make a difference. I'd guess 1:43:mid/low on a dry track next time they have him back.

His dig at JC was LOFL material.

Not wet enough to make a 4 second difference im sure.
No matter how anyone trys to paint it, he did an amazing time in the wet compared to the fastest in the dry. Just 300th of a second slower.

No offense meant. I should have added quotes around shame.
