Remind me a bit about these two fools here.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7azOmoZz1n8 Not a supercar by all means, but still a car, and it can still kill.
Which is more offensive? Is it the actual criminal acts or the stupidity of posting evidence of it on the Internet afterwards? Remember the guy who got prosecuted in the F40? He wasn't going nearly 219! These guys begged to be made an example of and while I am not a snitch I feel like popping some popcorn and watching the fireworks I must confess. That doesn't make me a rat, I just don't have empathy for dumba$$es especially dumba$$es that are a danger. It almost qualifies for a Darwin Award.
Say what you want about the stupidity of those guys making the vid of themselves....or endangering people on the freeway. No one can deny that both of those are stupid. However, that Lamborghini is one impressive car........
Well, now that all the ball breaking is done I wonder what this "famous" lambo could fetch at Barrett-Jackson this year. I could see this thing being offered with free teeth whitening and a one year subscription to the owners porn site. A great smile is guaranteed.
I think this hype is complete BS. Everyone here who has a sports car "Instrument of speed" has used it at least once for that intended purpose. People don't buy ferrari's to do the speed limit just as people don't buy full set of golf clubs to go out and mini golf all day. Idiotic that he documented it, Yes, Is he the only one that does break neck speeds, NO so please don't call the kettle black. It seems people are trying to appear almost politcally correct here and that really is a ashame. I'm not saying what he did was right but give me a break he did it on a late night, No cars around and plenty of visibility. If he's weaving through traffic at high speeds chuckling like a fool thats a different story. If your calling this guy a complete moron you probably should not own a sports car. The fact is he broke the rules in pursuit of speed which I'm sure all you have done weather thats by 10 mph or double the speed limit. If you have never broken the speed limit your waste of a driver and I'm sure the carb build up the valves will get to your car before the cops do. Speeding reckless is one thing, Speeding smart is another please don't get the two mixed up...
there are reasonable allowances for breaking the law, I was pulled over on the SR-51 doing 90mph in my old sl500 at 10pm at night, the officer was respectful of me and the car, gave me the speech and let me go. I was also respectful to him in return told him the truth and no issues. Would the outcome been different at 190? YES contrary to popular believe the "law" are people and likes our cars just as much as we do. Tracks exist for a reason, controlled variables. A piece of debris at 200 mph would've ended our porn kings life and for that he is an idiot for pushing the limit ( video or no video).
That's really my point...bring it down to the Texas Mile Drag event, or join FCA at Texas World Speedway....you know, where you'll at least have a Safety Crew, to scrape you up......
First off, this guy is crazy, kids don't try 219 in your car. That F430 video is pretty funny as well. I read recently that if a car traveling 200+MPH and crashed not a piece of the car or the driver found in the wreckage would be larger than the palm of your hand, thats pretty scary to me!
The defense " I could not afford the track fees" is unlikely to cut it. Is anyone else noticing lots of traffic cops around now? I drive the 202 most days and I am watching my speed even more closely than usual. I do agree that one of the reasons that I bought a sports car was to enjoy the power and performance but it was also because the car was an icon to me as a teenager and I was fulfilling a childhood dream. 1 down 999 to go!
I have noticed an increase i traffic cops since this whole thing went down.....marked, unmarked, motorcycles.
