Most ridiculously $$$ priced part

I want to get a thread going on the most ridicously priced part (not meant to be offensive to one of our favorite Sponsor Daniel). I don't think it needs to be the most expensive, but more like $700 NASA hammer which makes you go "kidding me"

I'll start the submission with $55/lb kluger grease for the flywheel

 

$1500 fiberglass heat shield for the muffler....

 

HMMMMM, I know some guys that do fiberglass work. Much bigger profits than surfboards.

it's not plain fiberglass, but it is expensive for what it is.

 

Just paid from the dealer $288.00 for a ....gas cap!

 

generic equivalent cap $16.00

$1800 355 exhaust bypass valve. Probably cost 25 to make.

 

Just put in a $150 challenge bypass pipe. My exhaust bypass valve sits on a shelf in my garage.

 

My vote? This part is expensive.... but you don't even want to consider the regular maintenance.

And who can forget that $12,000 F1 pump??? With that I can buy 2 well built engines for my STi!

Of course this is the price we pay to support a winning F1 team, right?

This isn't in the range of the $12K F1 pump, but I think that $74 for the glove box strut is pretty high...

I vote for the F1 pump, or the glovebox strut.

 

The used part market is just as rediculous, if not worse! If I ever decide to get rid of my car... i'm not selling it for $4?K, i'm going to part it out... I can make somewhere in the $3M range instead!! it'll be like trading my 348 for a few Enzo's, or a different 430 for each day of the week, PLUS a Diablo Roadster!!
